He certainly has influenced a hell of a lot of bands, most of them crap but there are some gems to be uncovered.

Apart from the songs he just has that "being there" thing that no one but Elvis and him seem to manage.
 
As long as Morrissey avoids the late-period polyester jumpsuits, conservatism, tacky glasses and drugs, then he could do worse. God, Elvis was so pathetic there at the end. He died fairly young, at 42, but he had already made himself a laughingstock.
 
I can hardly wait for the tacky films he's going to make, anyone think up some very witty film titles that our Mozvis could 'star'in?

You know, Elvis ate America before America ate him. I think the Vegas peroid is underrated. I find it the most emotional.

Me too.
Those recordings of him in the latter years are the best ever.
