funko is up there with ticket touts,been trying to get the bruce lee ones for months,people buy them and put them on ebay for about 5 times the rrp and Amazon isn't much better.somebody is flogging one for £171,is he or she mad,probably.

My daughter has about 30 different pops! and loves collecting them. What I have learnt from buying for her is that the majority of collectors are blokes who take it far too seriously for what is basically a plastic toy and secondly that there are lot of fakes out there (some of the vailted ones now fetch 3 figures secondhand) so it is best to avoid Ebay unless you trust the seller.

Personal, i shall buy one and keep it next to my Doctor Who one.

100% with you on this. Even if it looked exactly like Moz from a brief period in the 80's (e.g. a couple of Top Of The Pops appearances) that was a blink in the overall Moz timeline and does not represent him. I would think that only casual fans would mentally think of a gladioli flinging waif in a big blouse when they visualise Moz. Personally I'd have no interest in something based on a dated and transient image.

I do collect them and I was just saying to my niece and cousin that I'd love if they made a Morrissey one. I also have a Joey Ramone ,Kurt Cobain and a Prince one. I'm super glad their making a Morrissey one yay!!!!!

Is there a detachable head for the Cobain one? That's my bad deed for the day taken care of.

Indeed, hence the 'always been wary'.
I don't collect Funkos for the prior reasons, but if they manage to release an authorised one, I'd buy it to put in storage along with many other tenuous Morrissey-related items I've bought over the years. I'd pay it no other mind otherwise. That's my exact logic for things like fake coloured vinyl et al... If it's cheap, I will buy it. I won't, however, go nuts in a bidding war for these types of items.

Interesting. When you mention fake coloured vinyl do you mean you think coloured vinyl doesn't sound as good as black vinyl? I've heard that before but there doesn't seem to be a general consensus on it. Or did you mean something else? Thanks.
