The Q&A isn't as easy to present - will follow shortly in some form.

A lotta folks tried to get Mr. Morricone on their records.
I'm talkin' about high faultin' artists wanted his help.
He wouldn't work with'em, but he would work with Moz.
Always thought that it was a heck of a get and the results were amazin'.
Guess Mr. Morricone just appreciated the high level of Moz's art.

ROTT is lowkey possibly my favourite post-comeback album. I can see why people don't like it, but at its strongest points I do not think he has come close since. It was also a great time to be seeing him live, I would say on the cusp of seeing a Morrissey gig being a gamble in terms of his mood and/or whether he'd turn up.

Pigsty is one of my favourite songs, and the live version from Hollywood is haunting. I am glad Alain is proud of it.

It's a frustrating record because I actually think the sound is pretty flat, especially given how hyped it was that Visconti was producing it. Quarry is still the best comeback record for me, but I often feel that the best Quarry and Ringleader tracks combined with some more nuanced production could have ended up as Morrissey's best record after Vauxhall or something. They were doing great work in the early-2000s but the execution always left me a little cold.

I do agree with you about the tour, that was a very fun time to see Morrissey live.

loving these and a big shout out to Julie who gets stick from some people on here.

Funny, I find Quarry unlistenable due to the production. Nowt as queer as folk.

Quarry's production sucks, it's so incredibly flat. But all the songwriting is really there. Obviously it had its intended effect: Morrissey's comeback was secured, the reviews were great, the tour was great, etc. But it's a shame that after 7 years in the wilderness, Moz and the band couldn't get a halfway decent producer into the studio. So stupid.

I think the production is fine - it's the brick-walled mastering that kills it.

f***ing sad all these old band members have no other claim to fame. ALLEN is the most pathetic. And Dino is playing in Sugar Ray! f*** yeah maybe I’ll see you guys at the local fair.

Perfectly produced, you know nothing about music.

Who is Allen? Who is Dino? Can you crawl back to whatever redpilled forum you wandered out from?

I reckon I might be the only person that loves the released version of Sweetie Pie and didn't particularly like the reworked version.

You reckon wrong friend. "Sweetie-Pie" is a smasher :thumb:

Love Mikey, but his re-working was too workmanlike; adding a tad too much MOR into MORrissey.

The original? Emily Brontë via Brian Eno :yum:
