Has Morrissey coming out as a Bernie Sanders fan resulted in more fans?

At the last US election, Morrissey urged people to vote for Bernie Sanders.
It begs the question, will this have resulted in him having more fans or, conversely, are people a bit put-off by his support for a blatantly left-wing candidate?

Yeah he posted that pic with the bird landing on sanders podium. Now this is kinda interesting. So sanders voters tend to be younger and very left and would probably like his stance on many things but they are, like so many of the young purists. Ironically he’d probably get less fans if he talked about him right now

Wouldn't make a difference. They'd expect an Indie singer who lives in L.A. to be liberal-left. And his animal rights stuff will already have repelled any non-leftie who was going to be repelled.

Clearly Bernie is going to win thanks to Morrissey’s support. Morrissey turned the tide. But what do you expect to happen when a candidate receives the support of a worldwide known celebrity who just recently had a #1 in the charts?

First the Iowa caucus. Then not only is he going to New Hampshire, he’s going to South Carolina! And Oklahoma! And Arizona! And North Dakota! And New Mexico! He’s going to California! And Texas! And New York! And he’s going to South Dakota! And Oregon! And Washington and Michigan! And then he’s going to Washington, D.C., to take back the White House! YAWWWWWEE!

Everything’s coming up, Bernie.

The answer is simple: NO. Look at the (leftist) media: they are writing about the artists / bands currently performing in support of Bernie Sanders. Among those: Bon Iver and Vampire Weekend (who just won a Grammy award for best alternative album). As far as I know, Morrissey hasn't performed in support of Bernie Sanders.

Will be interesting to see whether Morrissey decides to publicly back Bernie again this year. I don't follow US politics closely but presumably most of the issues/policies remain the same as 4 years ago...

Sadly, Sanders or any Democrat candidate hasn't got a cat in hell's chance of beating D Trump.

He supported Bernie because he was an outsider who took on the media’s favourite, Hillary.
Now Bernie is the establishment. Maybe he will go for Buttigieg.

Buttigieg

Now there's a curious, & unfortunate name for a gay man. I'm surprised he received votes, which apparently some voters now regret owing to his 'persuasion', & his being 'married' to another man.
f***ed up place that USA.

It's not 2016 anymore, retard. If Morrissey was going to endorse any of these parasites for president, he would have done it already. And judging by his recent "This is the open face of Soviet Britain" comment, I highly doubt that he's going to back somebody who's a communist, or at the very least, has communist sympathies. Moz is a proud member of For Britain, a party which opposes everything Bernie Sanders and his ilk stand for.

>Pete Buttigieg
>Not apart of the establishment
>Thinking that Morrissey would support him regardless

Based retard.

Just to clarify, & before this ball starts rolling anywhere out of the fact-zone, Moz is NOT a proud member of any party, & that includes FB.
He has signalled his support for what some party lines are, & has said he likes certain individuals & thinks they'd be good as a PM, but has never joined, represented, canvassed, or voted for any party.

Shut up, you pretentious f*****.

“I have been following a new party called For Britain which is led by Anne Marie Waters,” said Morrissey. “It is the first time in my life that I will vote for a political party. Finally I have hope. I find the Tory-Labour-Tory-Labour constant switching to be pointless."

Is that kinda like “Hi guys, I’m not a member of the National Socialist Party but I support sterilization, would like to see what Eicke could do as Chancellor, and just like to wear a swastika armband around in public”?

He wore their badge (which you only get when joining) both at concerts and on a TV show beamed to millions. He wrote a specific post on his website urging people to support the party and its leader. It would be hard to be more unequivocal. I cannot believe that he has read, and supports, their manifesto, though (but that's just my own view).
