Re: beddy time!

hmm...

i went to a coffeeshop and wrote the outline of a travel article, which is something I haven't done in 6+ months, i picked up my guitar for the first time in nearly 2 months. i want to bake, but found that my plan for making truffels might be foiled until i can find some liqueur.

at the same time, i feel really tired and blah. i know it sounds like i did a lot today, but trust me, i really didn't do that much and here I am....i've been staring at magazine articles i've read many times. more accurately, staring at the pictures. i don't know why but trying to read lengthy things is seriously bothering me.

i should be recovering. i haven't done much of anything for about 3 days, but somethings not working.

i slept quite a bit last night, and it really didn't work.

actually, we shorten things with many syllables, and put more syllables in one-syllable words.

no bits and pieces which is worse coz you can't finish the damn song.

Aladdin was the last of the movies with decent music. When they started getting Elton John to do soundtracks, I lost all interest.

welcome to disney.

they have a new movie coming out called the "emporer;s new groove" with sting doing title tracks. blech.

What? I'm more offended that you DON'T listen to it at all.

Are we talking about the same album? "wrong way up"?

that's OK.

everything i have is junked...not terribly, but you know how it is when you are single and responsible for keeping track of EVERYTHING. It gets boring and tiring and you start letting things slip. AFter all, nobody is going to see if you livingroom has paper lying around.

all mine are in my house.

oh phbbt.

drugs shmugs. the vast majority of drug users are people who can afford it. and after knowing a couple of potheads myself, i can tell you that they have the same level of morals as far as theft and all that goes. they just like having a toke. why not say alcoholics are just as capable?

and as i said, the US itself may be rich, but the wealth only goes to a few people. it's not like i'm driving a mercedes benz.

> really... in brazil we have the ide everybody in the states
> makes 60,000 a year...

that's a laugh. for the first few years i was out of university, i was making about 1/4 of that.

don't get me wrong. i know a person or two who is making closer to that out of school, but it's in doing things I can't do that require lots of math.

> oh great!

> the first intructions he gave me didn't work at all. I have to
> try more.

> this is some kind of darwinist method isn`t it?

yes and no. yes in that it assumes that people in richer school districts are more worthy of being educated.

for example, here in this very city, there are some elementary schools with brandnew computers, courses in foreign languages at an earlier age than 13, a greater bredth of extracurricular activities and numerous forms of coursework that range outside of the basics of literature. this includes having tutors for musicians, and the latest equipment for the sports department.

then, you have the poor schools across town that are having other schools donate their old books. the buildings are starting to fall down, and the teachers are having to use part of their salaries to bring needed items to teach with. they offer the very basic curriculum, and if you're in the special education system, they've pretty much lumped them all together in one room to teach them how to cook as their life skill after they graduate.

right. i was hit on quite a bunch overseas. mostly by these scary looking dudes, however....

...like this one late 50ish guy from Belfast when I was in Paris...wins the creep of the year award.

*sigh* you know it doesn't do you any good. Being married and in Brazil makes you even more useless than Morrissey.

it's when you rarely go to pubs.

i guess what i mean is that it's good for social occasions that pop up once every eon.

And now, how do you are?

I think you are simply stressed because of your trip, and this is completely normal, you see?

You had lots of new experiences, you lost your cds, your routine changed completely for some days. It's natural you can't concentrate on anything.

Talking about concentration, I had my 3rd English class today. My teacher is a huge fan of U2, and he passed all the class talking about the show she saw in São Paulo 2 years ago (U2 is in Brazil now again because they want "thank our country" one marvelous show they did in São Paulo...)

Of course I told her about my Morrissey show.

A good class indeed!

Talking about Bono and Morrissey, have you seen passage of the Novello Awards where both hugged each other so carefully? I told my teacher I would send the mpeg archive to hers.

It seems that Morrissey really loves Bono Vox!

yeah - this is always terrible.

I know he made some of the worst songs ever, like Nikitta and you have to love someone (or something like that).

But he had some great ballads, don`t you think?

Anyway, the guy seems to be one of the most idiots of this business. Have you seen the process where he said he bought to himself tons of flowers by year? Just an idiot do it. And he is almost bankrupt.

oh you should know the brazilian people who sang in disney`s more recent film: ivan lins, daniela mercury and ed motta. Blech again.

Oh, I had this problem with a boss too. This stressed me really much. She and her friends made dishonest pressure against me during months. Even one of my best friends made terrible pressures against me.

I can`t exagerated the pain, you know.

Well, I liked so much "before and after science" from eno; "low", from david bowie with eno producing; the first two roxy music albuns; and "songs for drella" from reed/cale; and all the velvet stuff.

I just expected too much from this album perhaps... i considered it so... pop!

Well, I'm sure if I'll hear again before sending it to you I'll like it!

or perhaps not... :)

changing the subject... have you ever hear shangri-las? (i think i've asked you) I am hearing now. I think you would like it!

but "the leader of the pack" sucks!

Me and Johnny Marr can`t understand why this song is their biggest success!

in Brazil only lawyers have chance.

and some people who works with computers of course...

no, please don't send it. I hate to be a snob about these things, but tape copies are practically useless to me. that, and i prefer in some cases to have a really good first print. just like i plan to replace my moz stuff with the correct things.

if I had anything more to add to my list of things to do, i would die. i know what people say about finding a mate to help out, but lets be honest. most guys don't help with anything. i've seen it too often that after they both come home from work, she is automatically given the task of fixing dinner and taking care of the kid. that kind of existance is very boring, lonely, and monotonous. and then, what if they decide to run off in a couple of years and you are stuck by yourself?

i guess most people have more faith in others than I do.

same here.

pretty much. not that they keep people out, but housing prices and where the district lines are drawn help determine who goes to what school.

i have to get up earlier tomorrow because of stupid reports, and then to have my car taken in for 2 days while they install a brand new dashboard. i will be car-less.

i can't believe they did all that just to get some dinky stereo they could probably get at most $50 for. I can't imagine they can sell the CDs because they have no jewel cases, and the cell phone is a complete dinosaur, but my means of communication should my car break down by the road at 4 in the morning.

i hope they're happy.

oh yeah...

interesting thing I have never been interested in cooking or something like that. I
think it's strange when I woman begin to be interested in it. Perhaps because my mother
simply aren't. for the best and for the worst, she is a kind of model to me.

yes.

But I think my daughter would like to see him in a film or something. She is crazy about

My daughter made a terrible mess with my cassettes... :)

Well, yesterday I was so happy in hearing Shangri-las, as you perhaps have perceived.

Now I am recording a Wagner LP to a friend.

Wagner is so horrible... argh! I understand why Hitler loved him that much.

I am a pratically car-less.

I love to go to places by bus - I read in an interview that people from Belle and
Sebastian are just the same.

Well, now i am recording a Bach lieder LP! I can breathe again... :)

Is 3:48 am but I slept during 2 hours before I came here... and I have to take a bath
tomorrow, so I have to wake up some minutes earlier... :)

Mostly I'm not, but there are two different kinds of cooking for me.

97% of the time, it's heating up pre-cooked food. I don't care how it tastes as long as I can eat it.
03% of the time, i'll actually devote time to making something that i really want to taste good.

most of the guys who see themselves that way generally aren't. they could do certain things, but they usually slip up on other things like clinging too much to their wives and not letting them out of the house.

I don't know. Most girls I know in relationships just seem overly spent in some area. There is some expectation to sacrifice things just to keep it going. Some girls are broke from paying off thei guy's bills. Some are tired because even after working 40 hours, she is expected to do all the laundry and cooking while he piles up on the couch and watches TV. Some girls have lost most of their friends because their boyfriend eats up so much of their time and he underhandedly demands that she give up her friends.

Frankly, I don't know a whole lot of girls who have come out a winner. Yet they are so lonely and can't find anyone else, so they stay.

I hate the meat market too. I hate being treated in a generic way by some guy, and I hate that because they see you standing there alone (even if you are waiting for someone) and even if you don't give any physical sign that you want them to join you, that you are obviously single and want their company.

I mean, what if I wasn't single? What if my boyfriend decided to stay home? What if I was single and thought they were ugly?

I do like the bus in many circumstances, but getting to work is so down to the wire for me because I have a hard time getting up in the morning. that, and most of the places are far away from where I live. It would take some manuvering to get there.

> Well, now i am recording a Bach lieder LP! I can breathe

heh. I went salsa dancing. not that I chose it, but my friend did, and I didn't know that the point of going to see this band was to salsa dance. i have nothing against that sort of music, as i like it OK, but I just felt like sitting there and watching. with that band and venue in particular, it was a horrible meat market because the crowd they attract, in my opinion, are a bunch of frat boy losers in their college state, their yuppie state, and their old guy only wanting to dance with the 19 year old girls state.

> yes, as I told you, it's difficult to imagine why somebody did a

sort of. it was given to me by my parents in case my car ever decided to break down at 3 aM and I'm in the boonies or something.

> you see? I don't.

sarcasm.

i imagine that after going through my CDs and noting that none of them are anything they would listen to, and figuring out they would have to spend more money buying jewel cases than they would make in profit for selling them, I'm sure they're in a trashcan somewhere.

If you hate them, at least return them to where you found them.

you see, I always hear stories where the woman doesn`t let the guy out of the house.

There's always some sacrifice in these kind of relationships - but both have to do their

I don't, and I have terrible problems because these kind of dances like samba or salsa

i just came in from being out and am starving. at 2 AM, i made instant pancakes, polished off the entire plate, and i'm still hungry.

i'm also cold from sitting outside. i have the heater on full blast.

i have my pictures back. very thrilled, but even though I took about 3 rolls worth, there seems to be something missing. i felt like i got too many tourist shots and not enough personality.

i like him too. he's very nice to look at.

a friend of mine and i are holding out on Robert Patrick until we can see what he looks like in jeans. there is a general consensus that Duchovny knows how to wear a pair of jeans.

that depends....

no need to get too upset that you don't need to spend loads of money on international postage.

but your mix tape...reminds me what a good song Boxers is. i don't listen to world of Moz which contains that song because I really don't want to listen to a big chunk of that album.

some of those songs are too much of a good thing.

> do women in USA normally more independent than men?

not really. as I said, there is still an expectation that the woman is going to give up things to have a family, and I don't mean spending less on going out to eat.

actually, there is an expectation that she's not going to be very interested in doing much besides finding a guy and starting a family.

it's something relatively new. i have nothing against house husbands, and I think it's really cool in many cases but some of these guys, like many girls, are mooches.

you see it on some talkshow where some guy admits to his girlfriend that he's been cheating and she gets angry saying, "I've paid your rent, I helped you get out of debt." and it's suddenly apparent why the guy is staying.

> But I know some guys who broke because of their wives.... :)

yeah, my uncle.

> Yes, this is frequent and this is the bigger injustice towards

> But sometimes it's a heavy weight on men's shoulders to be a

i know and that creates so many problems.

speaking of gender roles, i've decided the most useless form of science today is evolutionary theory. someone was telling me about their grand conclusions about why men and women do those cuckoo things they do, I just had to laugh. their theories are so full of holes because they completely ignore socialization and emotionality.

like they start pointing out how rich ugly men get beautiful women and therefore, women are bred for their beauty, etc. first, you can't breed one gender in a certain way because all traits are passed on to their children regardless, second of all, even ugly poor guys are going to get laid eventually. you have not eliminated any of their traits from the gene pool. that, and success is not hereditary. what is considered beautiful is not locked in stone either. also, physical characteristics don't necessarily dictate how successful you are in getting dates. I think most men would take an OK looking girl who is lots of fun as opposed to a better looking girl who is boring.

> and sometimes even if you make clear signs you don`t want their

not too often. i'm good at giving people the cold shoulder.

it's really sad if that's all they go for. i would understand if there was some meeting of the minds, but most of the time, it's just some guy being proud of himself that he can get a 19 year old.

> but did you use it in other occasions too?

no. the way the phone worked, it didn't have a battery pack. it only had a connector to get power from the cigarette lighter.

but really, i have no use for cell phones. my normal phone goes without ringing quite a bit.

um, they wouldn't know where to mail it.

they know where my car is....

this is sad. i've now finished off pancakes AND left-over mac 'n cheese and i'm still hungry.

Re: not familiar with them, Fabreeze....

Hello Suzanne,

Last Friday I bought several promotion cds of some brazilian kitsch singers. This is my last phase, you know? :) Since I was a kid I've been having this deep phases...

Now I am hearing a very ridiculous old singer called Waldick Soriano... it's so funny! These kind of music makes me really in a good mood.

If I had courage I would send you a cd just with this kind of music... but probably you wouldn't like it... :)

anyway... well, if you are interested... :)

oh no...

> just that your name sounds similar to one

which name is?

> right now?

i would like to know!

> i just came in from being out and am starving. at 2 AM, i made

I know what are talking about.

I lost around 5 kg the last two months. I pass the entire nights awakwe, without eating a thing. In the end you are not so affraid of being hungry anymore.

But of course sometimes I think I could eat anything.

> i'm also cold from sitting outside. i have the heater on full
> blast.

well, we are in one of the hotest months of the year (December) and Curitiba remains cold (15oC the minimum). Sometimes I want to move to hotter places.

> mm. yes, it's so much easier to deal with. sometimes, you come

sometimes they are better than anything that could be made at home, isn't it?

> i have my pictures back. very thrilled, but even though I took

when I was younger I thought that just landscape photos from trips should be taken... but post cards did it better than me, and then I concluded that the best thing is taking personal photos really...

and no, i don`t have courage to ask you the scan of some of them, so I won`t ask you for it :)

> i like him too. he's very nice to look at.

I agree.

This is really ridiculous but sometimes I think I look like him... Unfortunately nobody agrees with me :)

Talking about whom I look like, a woman friend of mine I didn't seen for two months said me that I really look like Morrissey (I "presented" him to hers), because I am thinner and I have sideburns now :)

> a friend of mine and i are holding out on Robert Patrick until
> we can see what he looks like in jeans. there is a general

I have never thought about it but it really makes sense.

And I simply can't imagine Gillian Anderson wearing jeans.

> where did he say that?

in a recent interview... I'll try to find it to you.

> that depends....

it's an interesting subject indeed.

> no need to get too upset that you don't need to spend loads of

it's not that expensive... :)

... and I like send things to you by post.

I understand. I don`t hear this album that much either.

But someway Boxers is soo deep to me... and the lyrics are so sweet, and his voice is so sincere, so pure.

> some of those songs are too much of a good thing.

what a goodness...

...and of course you disliked some of them, don't you? everybody does. :)

> not really. as I said, there is still an expectation that the

but do you think women give up more things than men to be married?

> actually, there is an expectation that she's not going to be

I've seen this, and I think this is really sad.

It seems that the only thing feminism got in the end is to make women having two works: one at home and another outside it.

but you have to agree many women do the same. At least in Brazil things passes like that - they stay just because of men's money.

I agree completely on this point.

They like to treat human beings as they were exactly equal to monkeys or dolphins. So why monkeys and dolphins can't send an e-mail?

I agree completely again, and I have little to add. And I remeber a test I saw at TV where a beautiful boring girl had much less success in one night than a fat and intelligent one.

i almost can see it... :)

and do you think this made some real difference to you?

I don't know, but I think primary schools are not so important if a person has a really desire to have success in schools later.

Anyway, our access to Universities is completely different from yours as I know.

You have to do just one test to enter in the University, and it doesn`t matter how was your school story.

> it's OK. it depends on how self conscious I'm feeling.

the less self conscious you dance the better? :)

do you like to speak at the telephone Suzanne?

Oh, I hate it... :)

> what's wrong with sarcasm?

I'm normally not sarcastic at all, but I could be sarcastic if a sad thing happened to me.

But not if this sad thing happened to you - it would seem I liked what happened to you.

> um, they wouldn't know where to mail it.

in Brazil if somebody finds another people's document he can send it to the mail, and then the thing would go to the central computer.

Anyway, I don`t think if this is worth to cds...

> they know where my car is....

> this is sad. i've now finished off pancakes AND left-over mac 'n

this is really sad.

And well, I am hungry too - as always, I have to add.

that's really bad. you know that you should not starve yourself because it can't go on forever. you'll eventually have to eat something.

> well, we are in one of the hotest months of the year (December)
> and Curitiba remains cold (15oC the minimum). Sometimes I want

i go through spells where I can't really tolerate the cold. i'm in one of them now. i have my robe on over my clothes and the heat turned up hotter than usual. my hands are like ice cubes. and it was worse because we sat outside last night, and most everyone seemed OK, but I felt horrible.

> sometimes they are better than anything that could be made at
> home, isn't it?

yes, something that i'm willing to make at home...

but i'm a decent cook when I want to be. for example, there is going to be a big party in the middle of January. They didn't even know the date, but it was already decided that I must bring spinach and artichoke dip.

Generally, whatever I cook is usually finished off...and it usually is some form of junk food.

> when I was younger I thought that just landscape photos from

I'll have to post this in two parts, but one is the Oscar Wilde grave. I dont' know if you can see it, but the little dark spots all over the monument are lipstick traces where people kissed the monument.

I don't know if I should mention that the figure on top had it's erm, onions and carrot (if you catch my drift) broken off.

Then, the next is my representative postcard picture. I realized as I thumbed through that I got way too many pics of the eiffel tower and the seine.

> I agree.

it's not bona drag, is it?

I mean, I liked the album OK, but since I was a latecomer to Moz stuff, I had bought that album before I had a chance to build up the rest of my catalogue, and I began to note a line of repetition that could possibly destroy my listening experience of the other albums. It took me years to where I finally had ever proper studio album, minus the gray area ones like the Best of albums.

Of course, I'm now missing Meat is Murder and Vauxhall.

> but do you think women give up more things than men to be
> married?

hmm.

now that I think about it, not exactly. but it depends, doesn't it? If she has pretty much sacrificed everything for years to sit by the phone and wait for some guy to call, then not really.

Kind of like this study I heard about where in couples where one of the members is diabetic, if the woman is diabetic, she goes out of her way to fix a dish she can eat and another one for the guy that is normal, and if the guy is diabetic, then she will eat the same thing he is eating.

It's a very small thing, but it says lots about what role men and women play in relationships.

> I've seen this, and I think this is really sad.

> It seems that the only thing feminism got in the end is to make

oh, i'm glad for it. I couldn't possibly imagine being married and having to stay at home all day.

> and most men complain about their lack of freedom :)

> but you have to agree many women do the same. At least in Brazil
> things passes like that - they stay just because of men's money.

i'm not saying it doesn't happen, because I'm all too familiar with the proliferation of women who want a guy with lots of money. I don't like them that much either. They're lazy.

> I kind of understand him...

> I agree completely on this point.

> They like to treat human beings as they were exactly equal to

some say it's the lack of opposable thumb.

but I wonder what it would be like if orangutans started opening their own Gap stores. If evolution happens in the way it supposedly does, eventually something should catch up, right?

> I agree completely again, and I have little to add. And I
> remeber a test I saw at TV where a beautiful boring girl had
> much less success in one night than a fat and intelligent one.

I know. But these dumb theorists over simplify everything, and neglect to take into account expectation and peer pressure. A rich guy is assumed to be stupid if he didn't get the most beautiful girl he could find. What if he really wants a plain girl?

> i almost can see it... :)

> and do you think this made some real difference to you?

it could have. it's like pee wee leagues vs. the NFL. I know that I probably had as much potential to do well in band competetions as many of these people from larger schools, but I was not blessed with band directors who knew how to play woodwind instruments.

I remember seeing this really good highschool band at some event and I looked at the program, and it listed off all the names of the private instructors each instrument had. They had someone who was an expert at flute who would come in and sit down with all the flute players as a section and taught them the correct way how to play.

It really showed when all the honor bands I participated in, that the big chunk of the other people were from large schools.

> I don't know, but I think primary schools are not so important

but what do they teach you in school to get you ready?

> the less self conscious you dance the better? :)

i guess. i went out again tonight and saw this horrible band. i should have said no. I knew they were bad because I had seen them before.

> what revoltes me is that the older ones is so more interesting!
> But most men don`t like women with personality at all.

Besides some imagined ideal about the innocence of these 19 year old girls, I don't see any other attraction. Not that 19 year old girls are dumb, but most of them are still living at home with their parents while this guy has been playing the field longer than these girls have been alive. I can't imagine him being interested in hearing about the prom that she went to the year before while he is dealing in Mutual Funds and worrying about his cholesterol count.

> do you like to speak at the telephone Suzanne?

I do, but I don't really do it that much anymore. There is no point. i have a car and go drive and see them.

It's OK. Sarcasm is a normal thing. I use it all the time.

I just don't know... There's an incredible with an incredible low price double cd called "popular" (yes, the word is the same in portuguese) with fantastic trash and kitsch brazilian music. There are some songs where the singer sings compltely off-key :)-)) ) and the overall result may not be "cool" but is funny for sure, even if you don`t know portugues.

But I'm affraid I am bothering you.

Yes, perhaps I am.

oh for sure. I try to eat well on lunchs and dinners, because if i don`t do that I can`t bear my life.

the thing is that I was so fat I'm feeling well eating less. I spend much less energy with the digestion process.

oh poor Suzanne, I feel for you. How do you are now?

Well, in Curitiba things are better now. We have a very humid hot weather, and I'm feeling ok. As I use to walk on the streets, I simply hate the cold that we have here.

There was even a time where I had too much depressions... then I began to wrap myself up and my depressions began to pass... :)

That's the expression we use here.

the repetion of songs in Morrissey's cds is one of his weirdest sides, isn`t it?

With time I began to think he makes this as a kind of joke (and I have to confess I this joke funny...)

> It took me years to where I finally

it's a good thing that most american moz fans began to be it when morrissey was already in his solo career. Great part of brazilian moz fans knew them when he was in the smiths, and they use to be pedantic as most english moz fans. Weel, as for me, I began to buy Smiths cds since 1986 but I became a real fanatic circa 1992, when I began to understand his lyrics... so I am a little bit english / american type of fan at the same time.

I agree, but do you think this happen mostly just because women put themselves in an inferior position or this is a sign of how women act like mothers most of their times?

When I watch my daughter feeding her dolls I think about her biological role in our world.

well, this is true but I am really surprised of how most women change after having children. They want to be with them most of time in general.

the women who want a guy with lots of money? I don`t like them either. I don`t like women that wants to stay at home waiting for their husband. They just seem mediocre to me.

Again this is perhaps the image my mother put in my head of how a woman should be.

My mother had to be correct in something, isn't it?

something like "monkeys' planet" series would happen, isn`t it? this is the name of that old series in english?

I think I disagree. I don`t believe our life is based on random happenings.

See the DNA for example. For everything I studied about random series, the DNA simply couldn`t happen in a random way. I simply can`t understand why some scientists don`t see it.

the test to enter in the University is called Vestibular and there are too many private schools that make courses (called Cursinhos) with different durations to prepare people for it. So even people from bad schools can sometimes make a good "Cursinho" to enter in the University. There are public and private Universities, and normally the better courses are the public ones... and normally rich people enter in it, and they don`t need to pay anything. Poor people have to work during the day, and they have to go to private Universities, the ones that have nocturnal courses (public ones pratically don`t have it).

To enter in an University you have to study mathematics, physics, biology, portuguese, history, geography, an foreign language and chemistry. This if you enter in any course.

Women don`t have to have a perfect body to be very attractive.

To me, the key to things is exercising and staying away from lots of pasta. It might taste good, but you wake up one day and notice your clothes dont' fit the same.

> the thing is that I was so fat I'm feeling well eating less. I

I feel horrible when I overeat. When I was younger, I used to could do it and scarf down a meal and dessert and not care how full I was, but my stomach lets me know now when I've eaten too much.

Because, it then goes through spells where it can't have enough where you have a very large meal and are equally as hungry after.

> oh poor Suzanne, I feel for you. How do you are now?

I'm feeling better. I went and saw a free movie tonight. It was a sneak preview of Vertical Limit which is about mountain climbing. I lucked out as I was the last person they had a seat for. I would not have paid any money to see it, but I really liked it.

I really wish I had more pictures like that. I look through the roll and I'm so disappointed that I have lots of eiffel towers, but few interesting ones like where someone had scrawled "Eminem" on the eiffel tower.

they put themselves in an inferior position because they believe this is correct and this is the only way a guy would have them.

I guess there is a bit of fear involved that whenever a group of women come together like in the Lillith fair, they are all called lesbians and man haters for showing any sort of power as a team.

I'm sure people think I'm a lesbian because I can function as a single girl. There is this assumption of 'need' in a relationship where the man doesn't feel like he's doing his job if he's not in charge, and if a girl can do things on her own, many guys don't really see her as needing or wanting a boyfriend. It's not until she starts running to him wanting him to kill a big spider or carry some heavy boxes for her that he starts feeling like he is filling his role. "Oh, my big strong man, you!" and he feels wanted and appreciated.

Just because you can lift boxes doesn't mean you are a better person. But somehow, all that got equivilated into the mixture.

> When I watch my daughter feeding her dolls I think about her
> biological role in our world.

Yes, but I was never really like that. I was given dolls, but the most amusing ones I found were the ones you gave water and they wet their diaper afterwards. I thought that was funny. The whole feeding/clothing bit maybe lasted two minutes.

I also have a cousin who is a boy and when he was younger, liked playing with the Barbie dolls sitting in my closet.

Now that I think about it, I can't really remember what I played with that much. I liked drawing and making things.

> well, this is true but I am really surprised of how most women

There is one guy I work with that he is mostly a house husband, and he's always taking his kid with him. I think it's great because he's a really good dad.

Then, there are many of the others that they exude that "it's women's work" kind of thing and they don't pay much attention to their kid and the wife is subconciously trying to fill in where the guy is leaving off.

> the women who want a guy with lots of money? I don`t like them

I think it's important for women to have a fulfilled life in general. I notice that when they sit at home too much and really don't have much going for them, they fixate way too much on their kids and kind of screw them up a bit.

oddly enough, I don't think the very basics were touched. It's sort of different in America where the high schools are relatively easy for everyone to make sure they graduate. It's what they offer besides math and english that gives kids a real chance to do something.

If you think about it, those are the formative years for learning how to do those very difficult things. If you're 18, and walk into a large university and see people that are eons ahead of you, you can't possibly catch up. No matter what you do, they are still going to outpace you.

They did have a good science curriculum though, and I did love science.

we have student loans where you eventually pay back the money you borrowed to go to school.

And we do have night classes. I'm thinking about one in newspaper writing because I would like to occasionally submit travel pieces.

> To enter in an University you have to study mathematics,

we have to study all that minus portugeuese, and have a physical education requirement (mine was marching band) and a few random odds and ends taken as electives. if you pass your classes, you can take things like typing, home economics, business classes, etc. but if you are failing your classes, you use that time to repeat what you failed.

yes, and I'm affraid this happen again to me. The thing is that I'm having a terrible
hunger at evenings since yesterday, and since longtime I didn`'t feel it anymore.

It's a sad thing to be thinner and fatter from time to time. I am now
in my minor weight since almost eight years. I'm affraid this good phase is finishing now.

But perhaps not, who knows?

yes, this is the point where we should begin to lose our weight: knowing where we've
eaten too much. The problem is that sometimes we have another problem, and the food
seems to be a form of consolation - so we don`t know when we have to stop.

I love these kind of movies - principally because normally the landscapes are so beautiful and I have a terrible fear of heigh places. It seems so secure seeing other people from my seat. :)

I really can't believe in that. If it were a record company's joke all singers would do the same. You see Suzanne, some choices of his cds are completely unbelievable. Why put Boxers and songs from Southpaw Grammar in the my early burglary years cd?

As for Boxers, I think it is there to make this cd the best one ever for me.

A weird choice I know.

But everybody make weird choices sometimes, isn`t it?

Well, changing the subject, I began to write your answer yesterday night but I was soo tired because of my trip... and now I am writing from work, what I never do.

Hey! my father arrived! Perhaps I'll have to stop writing now!...

Well Suzanne, perhaps I am wrong, but there are too many women out there that at least seem to REALLY like this condition...

You see, I always acted like the good guy and the "friend" of my female friends and in the end they always chosed the bad guys. Well, most of these girls really were unlucky thereafter.

You see, if they really wanted to be well treated the girls could chose the good guys - but great part of them seldom do it when they are teenagers. Just when they become older that they begin to prefer kinder guys, normally because their previous choices put them into disaster.

I believe sometimes in some biological reason for their choice.

>
> I guess there is a bit of fear involved that whenever a group of women come

A bit of fear from men isn't it?

I agree most men are afraid of women personalities' in a general way. I don`t know, but when women begin to laugh toghether we feel really distant from them... :) We normally can't understand why so many laughs! :)

Well, I digress, but as for me, it was so frequent to see my mother saying horrible things about men that I thought she was correct... (it seems that most gay men had mothers like mine, but I'm not gay, you see? I took all this in a positive way, I think). You see Suzanne, I think a little bit this way until now, and this is why, contrarily from most men, I prefer women's company to men's one always. When I see my father really having fun with just 8 other men during 10 days when he goes to fishing I really can`t understand why he can like other men's company that much. This is hell from me :) It's so nicer to be in women's company to me. But I know I am almost an exception. Most men love to be with other ones of their own genre, because they can make dirty jokes everytime and they don`t need to deal with the subtilities of a relation with a woman.
>
> I'm sure people think I'm a lesbian because I can function as a single girl.

It's a good thing to be really independent, and I really appreciate this in a woman.

hehehe... I don`t know, but sometimes is very difficult to please women, you know? Sometimes men act like kids, and they have no idea (or they don`t want to know about) of how act with a girl. So if they can have some utility, this is fine for them!

Oh yeah - men are stupid in general.
>

This is one of the worst kind of men that exist. There's no more important thing on Earth than our children, and it's unbelievable that there are so many men that don`t think and don't act that way.

This seems a much fair system. It's idiot to see students going free to Universities in Ferraris as I have seen, and having at the same time a University in a miserable state.

Here if you fail you simply have to do your classes again

Well, I can`t blame you because I am a little bit like that too (I thnik everybody are).

Anyway, if a man likes a 19-year old girl he have to be prevented that this girl probably won`t have the same body after 15 years. Will this man try to find another teenager?

Probably yes.

And perhaps he'll be frustrated after some years because there's no such a thing as a "perfect body" or a body that will remain "almost perfect" for so many years.

I see.

But I simply enter in panic when I hear a voice from a phone. I don't know why, but the place where I am still the criminally vulgar shy is in front a telephon.

Perhaps this is because of my bad voice too.

Oh, yes - I have not a good voice to sing on-key most of songs I know.

The thing is, you have to change how you eat forever.

Actually, I wish I did something where I could move around more than just being planted in my seat at work all day. You can eat what you want with that.

> But perhaps not, who knows?

> yes, this is the point where we should begin to lose our weight:

I understand that as well. I like eating in that way. I think it's more subconscious than that. You look down one day and notice that you've suddenly lost or gained weight.

Speaking of that, I don't know if I told you that all 5 people in my department got employee of the month....stupid and silly how 5 people have to share it, but I discovered it was a stupid ploy by our sales manager to make us feel better when they announced that our department might be one person short permanently.

...let's not forget that if it wasn't for me covering that missing spot, it wouldn't be possible, but I digress..

we had our pics taken at a studio around the corner for the plaque that is hanging in front of the elevator. I was sort of looking forward to that because I hadn't had any decent pictures of me done in eons. I got all done up, and we all went in as a group. He posed me in an odd way, but I thought nothing of it at the time. We get the proofs back and the bastard tilted my head down and in such a way to make it look like I have a huge double chin. I look like Carnie Wilson in the face.

He must have done this as a cruel joke of some sort. He's a professional, and most everyone else's pics I've seen of his were really good.

> oh yes.

> Is there frequent free movies where you live to see? I don`t
> know if we have much of this.

They do it for one reason: they invite all of the press to see the movie, and they like having a large audience of nobodies filling up the empty space to react to the film. It's a ploy that maybe the reviewer will get sucked in with the audience.

Obiviously it didn't work for Vertical Limit. The guy gave it one star. But they do that. These people start getting indignant that they enjoyed a movie made for the masses and they have to turn their nose up at it to keep their cool level.

> I love these kind of movies - principally because normally the

i dont' think you really get that sort of reaction that much from the movie.

I saw Sean Connery's new film "Finding Forrestor" made by the same guy who did "Good Will Hunting." Always about finding things eh?

The sad thing is the premise to the film is sort of similar to something I had written a while ago, part of my first screenplay that I botched at university, redirected for my first book...

they did write it in the eiffel tower. I have a picture of it.

I don't care what people say, I like him in his silly way. I think he's harmless in a beavis and butthead kind of manner.

Because reprise was the one releasing it and they only have so much they can work with. They can;'t use maladjusted, and MEBY is a collection of rarities, of which you can't honestly stick Suedehead on there AGAIN.

Maybe. They do for a while because it gets them somewhere. They get dates and feel loved by the male race. That's what it all boils down to.

That, and many girls are raised to where they can't really make decisions for themselves, so they feel comfortable having someone there telling them what to do.

It's a vicious cycle, really.

> You see, I always acted like the good guy and the
> "friend" of my female friends and in the end they
> always chosed the bad guys. Well, most of these girls really

How else do I say this?

I'm not saying who actually told me this because I'm shocked that they would say it (they are female on top of everything else), but they basically said that all guys who treat girls nice and as equals are probably gay, and that I should basically quit holding out for a guy like this because they are pretty much dating each other.

I don't believe that, and personally, i would rather sit at home than be in a relationship where some guy (or anyone) is directing me on what to do. But still, this thinking came from somewhere didn't it? She's not the only one.

Personally, despite what I say, I prefer the company of men in all aspects...that is, until they start going into "we're all guys and can't say this in front of the girl" thing. Believe it or not, I don't get offended by what they say.

With other girls, you get this whole thing of them getting territorial about their boyfriends, or they start discussing hair and clothing. I lucked out in that my friends don't do that, but the good majority of girls can't discuss any movie beyond Sleepless in Seattle. They just sit around and talk about their boyfriends or husbands.

Sadly, the most witless of our species generally get to marry and have children. So much for evolution.

> Yeah... but sometimes men just want to help, don`t you think?

that's OK, and that's what relationships are about, but, "hey, little girl, I can put that heavy box in your car for you. are you turned on? how about a date?"

what exactly is the logic in this?

i do have dolls. they sit around and gather dust somewhere.

no. just the relevant experience/coursework to do it.

i don't expect to have a grand career in journalism, but I want some sort of guidance to where I can stick my foot in the door and submit occasional articles to real newspapers.

of course i had the suggestion that I should turn the remnants of my website into a webzine of sorts. the danger in that being almost no way of promoting it, and about 3 readers from this website.

Oh, yes. I hate my voice quite a bit. My accent is terrible. Then, people find things to complain about such as I don't speak loud enough, I don't speak enough, etc. They always find ways to embarass me on it by being incredibly rude in how they phrase it. It gets really old.

well, we can't blame you. at least you didn't start muttering incoherently to yourself.

Re: another late night

hello suzanne!!!

I really can't believe I'm talking to you, as yesterday was a "terror night" (I had to
correct almost 200 examens and projects from my students) and today i did the major mess
i did in months: i bought a lynux system and i tried to put in my computer...

oh you can't imagine my pain, Suzanne. I install the lynux system but i couldn't boot my
computer again (from lynux or from windows) anymore. My wife was so angry with me, as
she had important work things in my computer. So I called my computer assistant and he
said i probably had lost everything I had in my computer! But he helped me to do the
boot again: so i went to my office by (it was sunday evening) but i didn't bring the
windows98 cd, and i didn`t knew i dad to have it... so i returned to my office with the
windows98 to make a boot diskette... that had a problem in the end of its creation...

I had almost lose my hopes when I really got the boot from the cd! So after some further
sufferances I installed again the Windows98 in my computer... oh it was so easy! I won't
say bad things against bill gates anymore :)

i've lost some 6 or more Gb of HD in this experience, but I have hopes my often wrong
computer assistant will get it again from lynux to windows.

I simply don`t know how to boot my lynux system that now is possibly in my computer as a
snakes' egg.

But I am here, writing this message to you and hearing this great double cd I bought
yesterday: a lightin'hopkins' entire life anthology.

I can tell you I am happy now, you see?

with little tears in my eyes, but that's ok... :))

and you can ask me a question of course: "why this non-specialized in computers systems
idiot tried to get his lynux system alone?". I don't the answer for sure, as I'm doing
this question to myself too!

>
> > dois...
>
> no, i'm not counting in a latin-based language.... I'm saying "um" as a

you are too smart, suzanne! I thought you couldn't understand the word "dois" and you
would say I was crazy! I failed again.

well, luckily I didn't have this absurd hunger anymore - I think I am fitted with the
hot weather is doing these days.

Yes, I finally have perceived it, and I try to control myself even if the meals are
really excellent (as the one i had at lunch today. Do you know what a "churrasco" mean?

Yes, i would say it's rather completely subconscious - when the thing comes to your
conscience you can fight more easily against it.

but... aren`t you too cruel with yourself? I just know one picture of yours, and it's
not bad at all...

you see? I always had problems with my photos as well as you have. But even with the
stupid and childish face I see in my own photos people still talks to me, so I can`t
care anymore about my image.

yes, i've thought about it... if the movie is good for the public this probably will
influence on critics' opinions.

well, I have never had too much patience to read his lyrics, but the few I have read
seemed very original and well did.

Strange thing I saw today in a too mainstream program in the most mainstream brazilian
channel an interview with eminem! he is a handsome guy, isn't it? :) i liked him.

are, but the phrase did little sense to me. Perhaps i have to read it again :)

but what i never understood is southpaw was not from RCA? so what de deal with reprise?
and the rarities were from his previous record deal, so I still don`t understand why
putting southpaw songs in a "rarities" album. It still seems a Morrissey way of doing
things - as he did it during the smiths.

yes, but there's a terrible irrationalism in it too. I know a girl who had a violent boyfriend, that sometimes times hit her, and each day he seemed still more violent. But the girl simply couldn't forget him! she said he "did some "correct" things like being aggressive with those who tried to speak at her.

I simply can`t understand this kind of girls - well, and as i don`t like men in a sexual way :)-) ), i simply can't understand how this girl can be so stupid.

yes, but they are much more interestings when they speak with men... and men are much less interestings when they speak to other ones.

Anyway, there's a joke i read in internet that seems true someway: there are two women talking to each other, one saying marvelous things about the other's clothes and vice-versa, and each one thinking horrible things about the other woman; and they compare these two women's behaviour with two men making jokes saying horrible things to each other and both thinking marvelous things about his friend...

there's some reality in it - women seem to be always in competition against her female friends, what is not so normal in men's behaviour.

that's ok if the woman has other interests too.

there's no logic but sometime men are closed minded and they simply don`t know what to do to please women. Even I think women are very difficult to please sometimes. :)

i had my critic career too in the biggest local newspaper, as i am a close friend from the critic who was the boss of the teenage page - but he was fired of this page and this career of mine suddenly finished... anyway i don`t know how many hours i could sleep by night if this continued - it's 3 oçlock now and i have to wake up very early tomorrow.

this is really sad, i understand you.

Everybody thinks i am a woman when i speak on the phone and you can imagine the state of shame i am each time, can`t you?

i think i would like to do was singing. I would like to sing a lightin'hopkins' blues with a guitar, or i would like to sing a schubert lieder. I simply can't.

At least i have my morrissey songs to cry and sing.

hmm. sounds very dangerous. did you lose your wife's stuff? that's even more dangerous!

Right now, i'm having some mint flavored hot tea. I think I'm coming down with something and I'm trying things medicinal and otherwise to keep my sinuses open.

ooh yeah, *achoo!*

i felt so tired at Kendo today that I could barely do anything, but I chalked it up to what I did yesterday.

I was on a movie set for 12 hours. Some cheesey teenage flick called "The Wrong Guy" was looking for extras to be in their movie.

What we had to do was be part of the crowd for the big football game. The first scene was a knock-off of Braveheart. the name of the football team was the Highlanders, complete with bagpipe player and the guy who played mini-me from the 2nd Austin Powers film. The main guy, some actor I've never heard of, is on a horse with his face painted. He throws his sword down and leads the charge of all the extras down the hill and into the stadium.

This scene was very tricky because it was a cow pasture! Imagine what your trying to avoid stepping in. That, and the ground was very bumpy. Hard to run on uneven terrain even if it doesn;t have cow pies scattered through it.

The rest of it was much easier with us sitting in the stands and reacting to an imaginary football game. They were going for cheesey, and boy did I give them cheesey! I came up with as many goofy faces as I could. We'll see how much they liked it when the movie comes out.

The most famous person I saw was the guy who played Mini-Me. I didn't know any of the rest of them.

hmm. the only thing I can think of is if you had managed to erase Windows first. You may have had a software conflict. When you do something like that, you really have to wipe the hard drive clean.

deux-french
dos-spanish

I figured it was something.

i understand. that stuff eats up your life.

i go walking on my lunchbreak as much as I can. I'll have to pick that up now that kendo will be on hiatus for a while.

> Yes, i would say it's rather completely subconscious - when the
> thing comes to your
> conscience you can fight more easily against it.

> but are you sure about this plot?

hmm. well, here are my suspicions:

I can't imagine at least two of the 5 people getting voted for employee of the month by anyone period. I might have gotten one or votes if I was lucky, but I see most of the votes going to this other girl mostly out of popularity, and our boss because she makes it sounds like she's been slaving away since we are short-handed, but in reality is no busier than usual.

But it's the nature of sales people to do such a thing. To get people pumped up right before you're about to rip them off.

> why? sorry but i didn`t understand what did you mean here.

i'm covering the job that they are thinking about not hiring anyone for.

> you see? I always had problems with my photos as well as you

oh, i'm not being hard on myself because I know i look better than that. i'm being hard on the guy who took the picture. The way he tilted my head down to where it was drawn and folds of my neck and chin suddenly appearing when there were previously none should have been easily been seen as not flattering.

> ok, but again don`t you think you are cruel with yourself?

> yes, i've thought about it... if the movie is good for the

> hehehe... it's good that somebody at his age is still looking

Yes, but it's kind of sad this sort of movie he's doing. I personally found it a bit offensive as it being a story line of the great white father figure helps the poor black boy from the Bronx, made more offensive by the boy perpetually carrying a basketball with him everywhere he goes. They should have given him a bucket of chitlins and a slice of watermelon and be done with it.

> well, you should belive yourself more the next times, don`t you

> and have you already finished some book?

yes. i've had it finished for some time. I wrote it at work. It's great when you are bored and are forced to sit in front of the computer and look busy.

> well, it was not that you sent me, was it?

oh no. not at all. there is another one, but right now, it would take too much manuevering to scan and upload it and I just feel like sitting here and trying to will this headache away.

It has to do with how she was raised and what she saw her dad do and all that. If someone isn't instilled any sort of self worth, they begin to imagine that they should be treated like that because they are bad people. In all honesty, if she saw a nice guy, she would probably think "but what would he want with me?" and completely forget about it.

> heheh... i all can say is that i would never have any chance
> with a girl like that! :)

> anyway, i see that several girls think that way - and i really
> think it's irrationalism (biology?)

no, there is a reason for it.

You realize that the moment you are born, your brain is this clean slate with no ideas programmed into it. You don't know what to think of yourself in relation to the world around you. You can't communicate outside of crying as a signal of wanting food or sleep. When someone speaks to you, you don't know what they are saying. But you are being treated in a certain way. How? Because you spend a lot of time being held by people and being cared by them. You can tell how quickly someone runs to your aid if you are hurt or hungry. You can feel them if they move you around impatiently because they are tired of you, and the look on their face that accomapanies their anger. And if that is all you see for the first few years of your life, you think that this is normal.

So yes, at a very young age you start getting some idea of your level of importance in the grand scale of it all.

> yes, for sure.

> do you have some another idea?

> oh, for sure. I didn't think about that :)

> well, i don`t use to say some things in front of girls... do you

it depends. some girls enjoy reminding guys that they are girls.

i guess that does happen.

i wouldn't exactly say that. there is lots of competetion when it comes to getting girls. I know one guy that is angry at another for perpetually hitting on the same girls that he is trying to hit on.

> Everybody thinks i am a woman when i speak on the phone and you

hmm. yeah, that must be sort of rough.

mine gets a bit grovelly. i think i also have a speech impediment of some sort because I feel myself tripping over the same words and i pronounce some of them funny to where people sometimes don't understand what I'm saying. and sometimes it feels like dyslexia of the speech because it feels like it takes longer for me to think of the words than should be normal when I'm speaking. at any rate, i don't feel like i'm nearly as capable of carrying out a conversation verbally as I am writing. it pops out normally around here. it's no mistake that I can't speak french worth a crap and read it just fine.

> i think i would like to do was singing. I would like to sing a

well, you shouldn't let talent stop ya from having fun. i perpetually try and sing things that I should not attempt when I'm in the safety of my house.

oh well. computers can only do so much, right? But God knows I would miss it if it disappeared tomorrow.

oh poor Suzanne. How are you now?

I thought I was getting a flu the night from Monday to Tuesday because I was so tired
and I had pain in my body and I pratically couldn't sleep. Yesterday night I was like
this too, as I wrote you. But almost miraculously I am much better today. My daughter is
sleeping and I'm writing much earlier than I use to (it's exactly 19:37 pm now).

Well, probably she'll wake up in when Í'll be writing, so I'll have to finish this
message at night! :)

I am hearing Bach now - oh it's so wonderful!

so you were lead by a man on a horse with his face painted? this is amazing!

you see, I would like to make something like that in a film. There was a time when I
wanted to be a TV actor, because I dreamt frequently I was one.

A friend of mine told me exactly this today, and that this is the easier way to install
Lynux. But in fact it's possible to share your HD, but Lynux people made it so difficult
that it seems impossible. I think they don`'t want anybody with another system outside
Lynux. They are the new Bill Gates, you know. :)

It's a very popular meat from South of Brazil. People make put lots of meat (T-bone, I
think) under fire made of charcoal. The meat is tempered normally with some sea salt (I
don't know if it's called like that).
It's wonderful.

Well, Brazilian eats lots of meat (not the very poor obviously). People from Europe or
Japan are usually astonished when they see it here.

I had a boss like this - he always complained of working to much, but the only thing he
really did was
bother others...

Ok, he did it a lot. If you call this a work, he worked too much :)

oh, I'm glad you are not so hard on yourself... and well, if you look into his eyes and
you saw a bad look there you probably are correct.

But sometimes we imagine things.

I remember I good boss I had but who didn't talk a lot, and I always imagined he hated
me - but posterior facts showed me he was a good character and I simply imagined things
because he was silent.

To carry watermelons from the neck to receive attention from others? oh we have exactly

"those" eyes... :)

heheh, the thing became funny.

perhaps some of them are really like that, but what I use to see is that many girls see

well, perhaps I am the wrong guy and these are really qualities...

so do you think that just social relations are important to create a personality?

I don't agree with you - we have some biological desires (as sex for example), and they make part of our personality too. I don't know which percentage social and biological aspects have in our personality but I'm sure both are present.

You see, it makes sense the point some biologists say that if a girl wants a cute guy, she wants her children cute too. But how important is this biological side I really don't know.

That's why I prefer women's company in the end.

yes, you are correct. I thought about it already.

I would like to take an accoustic guitar (I played it a little bit) and sing an old blues song. Just for me.

And I should speak better german to try to make bad things with Schubert! :)

Anyway, I can sing some kitsch Brazilian songs - it's funny, it's easy and you don't even use an instrument!

I'll try to :)

and as for morrissey? I carry his songs as if they made part of me.

it was a false alarm. I have no idea what that was except the speculation that the one day I was out in the cow pasture didn't agree with my sinuses.

But jeez, I was tired on sunday.

i was sort of praying for illness. a day off from everything. I do that until I get sick and then I wise up and remember why i hate being sick.

I sort of got that when the weather turned bad and there was ice on the road, but I wasted it by getting up nearly on time this morning. I thought everyone would be there, but I beat the next closest person in by an hour.

despite that and being there for 12 hours, I enjoyed it.

> you see, I would like to make something like that in a film.
> There was a time when I
> wanted to be a TV actor, because I dreamt frequently I was one.

I've always had that dream. I sort of got a little start way back in highschool when I did a couple of plays, but it was miserable with a very odd ending to it all.

I remember my first play that I was a librarian in Up the Downstair Case. It was a small role and I got it mostly because they couldn't get enough people to be in the play.

Anyway, it was a battle of me vs. everyone else. Even though I had tiny scenes, the drama teacher kept picking on me perpetually like I was the worst thing. The bitch even stole my script when she couldn't find hers and played dumb when I came around looking for it. Everyone on the cast was a bunch of the popular kids who weren't exactly forgiving.

So, the opening night comes, and I'm like "screw it" and I went up on stage and delivered my first line and walked off and EVERYBODY in the audience started laughing. Considering the treatment I had been getting for the past month, I knew they were laughing at how bad I was and some guy back stage even offered consolation because he thought that they too were laughing at me.

So, I went backstage just kind of dejected and wondering why I was there. Then, my next part came up, and I did that, and they laughed again, but this time I heard someone say, "she's wonderful!"

There was a comment box near the entrance where some anonymous people left some nice comments. The Vice principal loved it. For the next year he kept coming up to me wanting me to do those lines again.

For the life of me, I couldn't figure out why I was being treated like @#!!! by everyone involved in the production, but everyone else really went for it. I still can't.

i talked to the supervisor of our department today. Not really talked, but from what he asked me, I got the idea that he has no idea that I'm covering that second desk. Meaning someone else has been saying, "oh, I have to put ALL these formats in" and then turning around and asking me to do it.

no, i dont' think we mean the same thing.

What I mean is a stereotype that all black people sit around and do nothing but eat watermelon and chitlins.

There was a movie in the 70's called Watermelon Man. It played off of that. The movie was about some middle-bread white guy who wakes up one morning and finds he is black.

Oh, I'm not denying that we have the components to feel these things because obviously if we didn't have that part of our brain, we wouldn't be able to feel anything.

What I mean is the meaning attached to what we do.

For example, they did this study where they took a baby and dressed it in blue. They would wait for it to start crying and then leave it out for unsuspecting people to deal with. They would approach this assumably male baby and ask "oh, who made him angry?"

When they took the same baby and dressed it in pink, people began asking, "oh, who scared her?"

As you can obviously see, the baby was crying for the exact same reason when it was dressed in blue that it was dressed in pink. The reality hadn't changed. The only thing that changed was what people thought about the baby's cries.

Dont' you see how powerful this is? The male child is being consoled in his anger, while the female is being consoled in her fright and inability to take care of herself.

And you do realize that one year olds of any gender are equally incapable of defending themselves should a pack of wild dogs descend upon them?

Anyway, as they grow up, they already have ingrained in them the ideas of what people find acceptable behavior.

> You see, it makes sense the point some biologists say that if a
> girl wants a cute guy, she wants her children cute too. But how
> important is this biological side I really don't know.

Biologists are freaks. I'm sorry. If you read any science literature through the ages, you notice it is full of very arcane interpretations about women and men. Just because it's the year 2000 doesn't mean they are any smarter than the year 1750. They are chauvinists who don't really get their heads out of their textbooks long enough to open their eyes and see what is really happening out there. Most of them are part of the idiot-bourgeois class, and the reason they got their degrees is because they know how to mix chemicals in a test tube for their big project.

When i see a hot looking dude, I'm not thinking, "oh, I'll have cute children!" That's plain retarded. It's just like guys looking at girls. We realize that we're going to have to stare at this guy for the next few years and forgive us for wanting something that doesn't look like Sam Donaldson. I don't spend all my hours dreaming of neat ways I can procreate cute little babies.

And as I was saying about meaning, when a guy sees a beautiful girl, do they think about what cute babies they are going to have? No, you would think that was dumb and so would the scientists.

And furthermore, tell me something: if your daughter came up to you and asked for a toy truck, would you let her have it? would you steer her back to her dolls?

> It seems nobody does in fact :)

> Oh, I have to pay a great attention to my daughter...
