A Night of Oz and Moz

Join Sweet and Tender Hooligans this coming Saturday, October 16, as they celebrate the 150th birthday of Oscar Wilde, the Irish poet and playright whose life and art was probably the single greatest influence on Morrissey.

The evening will include a performance by the band, poetry readings and other literary surprises.

  • No silly Morrissey impression this time ? Too bad, I was expecting a good laugh ! Or are you going to try Oscar Wilde instead ?

  • I must question why these boring individuals who claim to have some length of musicianship in their blood, still, dare bother to perform their poor attempts at "cover" songs pulled from Smiths/Moz catalogue? For the sake of us all, end the so-called tribute.

  • "...because where the love of Wilde is on mine."

It's quite irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, but methinks misquoting lyrics on your flyer isn't an awfully prudent indication of your awareness of Morrissey.

  • MEthinks that someone (American Morrissey) somewhere has a big nose but doesn't really know. If he'd listened to the actual vocal lyrics of the last lines of "Cemetry Gates," he would hear Moz sing the exact words that are printed on the back of the postcard (not the errata lyrics printed in the booklet).
