Morrissey A-Z: "I Know Very Well How I Got My Name"

I always wanted to understand "Web(ster) 13 years old, who dyed his hair gold" in this wonderful little pastiche, that Morrissey seemed to be able to design with somnambulistic certainty in 1987. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful....to heaven with it!

Morrissey A-Z: "I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday"

    A love song to JOBRIATH.

Morrissey A-Z: "I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday"

Imagine the aged diva swaying to the beat alone in her old Paris flat behind heavy brocade curtains. Grammophone on!

Morrissey A-Z: "I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday"

It didn't really need another piece after this one and "Seasick" that paired glam and the golden 20s. As if Marlene Dietrich had recorded a piece by Leiber and Stoller, which Bowie supervised and Ronson produced. Wonderfully old-fashioned to hear the German radio voice with: "Youth must change"...

    Morrissey A-Z: "I Knew I Was Next"

You are both right. I was wrong. Shows how much those b-sides sounded similiar to my ears, somehow. Anyway, not my cup of tea. Both of them.

    Morrissey A-Z: "I Knew I Was Next"

As with late Quarry B-sides, the material began to weaken. Not a song I want to hear live. Morrissey sees it differently and plays it to excess. The production, drumming and vocal melody are not attractive or appealing to me.

Morrissey Central "DEAR GOD, PLEASE HELP ME" (April 6, 2021)

If Jonny Bridgwood played bass on Marianne Faithfull's live version it would be the second piece in the jigsaw to bring back the class of 97.

Morrissey A-Z: "I Just Want to See the Boy Happy"

The prototype of the typical Tobias/Morrissey stomper, which still has charm here, but then degrades from record to record and hardly receives any attention or recognition today.

    The Bobby-code

Let's get George Lindley involved, to clear up case.

Morrissey A-Z: "I Have Forgiven Jesus"

Unfortunately not one of my favourites. I never really warmed up to this single. The production leaves no room to breathe or play around. Also not really attractive in terms of melody and far away from his best work.

Morrissey Central "TROUBLE LOVES ME" (April 3, 2021)

Yes, it's more realistic, Morrissey would send a one liner via Fax. "Alain, congratulations, you rejoined Morrissey"

Morrissey A-Z: "I Didn't Know What to Do"

Nice little ditty about relatives although not really in Morrissey's vocal range.

Morrissey A-Z: "I Couldn't Understand Why People Laughed"

The 3-4 tracks from the presumed 2013-2019 phase that Morrissey gave as a gift to fans but also the rare B-side the era are much more valuable to me personally than almost anything on WPINOYB or LIHS. It's strange that he held these tracks back because musically they are much more in keeping...
