Radio 2 Best Albums of the 1980's list (October 9, 2020)

You couldn't make Graceland these days, they'd call it cultural appropriation.

"Honey, You Know Where To Find Me" enters vinyl singles chart at number 2 (September 4-10, 2020)

Vinyl is for the same blues lawyers that buy expensive guitars and then just put them on the wall.

"Vauxhall And I" re-enters Official UK Vinyl Album Charts at #11 (Physical #25, Sales #25)

And yet he's probably made more royalties than Dog On A Chain managed. I haven't been in a HMV today, what are we talking, £29.99?

Spectator USA: "Human after all" by John Waters (August 5, 2020)

Because no-one sells anymore. Coldplay and Arctic Monkeys both went from 4x platinum to solitary gold between albums, Manic Street Preachers haven't been able to get arrested for years, U2 don't do big numbers no matter how hard Apple tries. I could go on. What racist things did they do? You...

Spectator USA: "Human after all" by John Waters (August 5, 2020)

Oh, it's not that John Waters. Silly me.

Morrissey Central "SO MANY SO SILENT" (August 3, 2020)

He's missing a trick posting shite like that instead of filling up the Emporium.

Music News / Fiona Dodwell: "The unforgiving storyteller: Morrissey's lyrics remain as vital today as ever" (July 31, 2020)

Whenever people prattle on about how the media treats their specialist subject, you can be assured they have very little to say worth listening to. It's one of those left wing/right wing levellers.

Denise Johnson dies - New album features a Smiths cover version ("Well I Wonder")

Oh well done Pete, you cracked the code. It's a 36 year old song with a lyrical source that's been widely referred to many times but you and you alone are the sage to teach us the error of our ways. Don't forget to collect your £200 when you pass go.

Morrissey Central RINGLEADER DELUXE ! (July 17, 2020)

Kick The Bride reminds of I Am Kloot so I quite enjoy it. Plus it resonates with my home life.

Morrissey Central RINGLEADER DELUXE ! (July 17, 2020)

I said this earlier in the thread but that was quite some time ago, I don't think it's relevant these days. Reissued vinyl is just a collector's item like a poster or a 'Funko doll' and the music can just be streamed so you can listen if you're curious and it requires no outlay.

Morrissey Central RINGLEADER DELUXE ! (July 17, 2020)

I found the deluxe version of World Peace quite dispiriting. There are three songs I can think of that could be swapped with any of the bonus tracks and it would be a much better album. (Neal Cassidy Drops Dead, I'm Not A Man and Smiler With Knife should anyone care)

Morrissey Central RINGLEADER DELUXE ! (July 17, 2020)

It's amazing how people still go on about this 'reissue repackage' gubbins when it's completely irrelevant in the modern world. Physical releases are just collectors items, it could be Ringleader of the Tormentors or a commemorative coin with his face on it. It makes no odds. As for the music...

Morrissey Central RINGLEADER DELUXE ! (July 17, 2020)

Good stuff. In these days of Spotify it'll be worth it just to see if Dear God is any better.

    Ennio Morricone dead

I've never really forgiven Tony Visconti for inviting Morricone to orchestrate a song, then throwing most of it away. The strings on Dear God Please Help Me might as well have been synthesized for all the use they made out of them.

Madness Brand FB: Morrissey marble bust statue now available (June 10, 2020)

SER YT: "Solomoz" - Bobby remix teaser? (June 1, 2020)

I like those This Charming Man remixes. Though they're more just extended instrumentals. I liked the old days when 'remixes' were actually that and not just spraying the vocals over some dumpy beats.

Morrissey Central PROOF (May 31, 2020)

Not to sound all Skinny (difficult enough given the amount of lockdown pizza I've eaten), but would that site ever shut up?
