Steve Lillywhite

producer (1994 - 1997)

Billboard magazine interview (March 26, 1994)

Morrissey had this to say on the Modern Rock Live radio interview (Aug. 17, 1997):

...On Steve Lillywhite:
He's incredibly gifted. It's been a great pleasure and enlightenment to work with him.

What does he bring in?
It's an atmosphere, it's positivity, and it's a matter of drawing the best out of everybody. And that's very hard to do. And Steve Lillywhite does it incredibly well, and makes you feel more adventurous and more sure of yourself than perhaps you normally would do.

From the Kirsty MacColl - Voice Of An Angel FAQ:

...Who is Steve Lillywhite?
Steve Lillywhite is a music producer, and the estranged husband of Kirsty (they separated in mid-1994). His most notable credits include: U2, Peter Gabriel, Simple Minds, Morrissey, and, of course, Kirsty MacColl. They have two children—Jamie and Louis—who appear on Kirsty’s songs “Innocence” (‘big money’), and “Happy.” Incidentally, Steve is one of the whistlers on Peter Gabriel’s song “Games Without Frontiers.”
