From John Emett:

The Smiths are in the Guinness Book of WorldRecords 1999 under the heading "Rock" and "Most simultaneous "Indie" hits in the U.K." It says, "The Smiths held the top three places on the U.K. Indie chart on January 28, 1984."

Michael Caine in New York Magazine

From Maria:

Well, here's one from the really insignificant department: The latest issue of New York Magazine has a small blurb on Michael Caine and his new film, "Little Voice." The article is titled, "This Charming Man," which is interesting, because Caine was in a film called "Sleuth," from which the lyric, "A jumped-up pantry boy / Who never knew his place," was taken. It seems that the magazine has at least one resident Smiths fan.
