Mporium: "Say No To Thankskilling @ The Mporium Store" (October 30, 2020)

If the turkey had Moz hair I'd really consider it...

Morrissey Central "I Am Not Resigned" (August 24, 2020)

Terrible to say, but I'm very interested in how the next album will turn out.

Upstarts and Oligarchs blog review by Rob Butterfield: "Moz is back ...and he’s certainly no dog on a chain" 10/10

Agree with you - at first I went in looking for the usual Morrissey and was fully unimpressed but after a few listens it "clicked" for me and I really like it now. It works really well as an album rather than as a collection of singles and you're right that it's not comparable to any of the past...

"Knockabout World" released on YouTube / streaming platforms (Feb. 21, 2020)

As someone who tends to focus a little more on the music than the lyrics, to me this is better than the other two singles off the album.

That ad is probably more about you than him (given how ads are personalized), but I'm sure he would be upset regardless.

Janice Long: Pet Shop Boys interview mentioning Morrissey (January 27, 2020)

It would definitely be interesting. Unfortunately, I think we will get a Morrissey Christmas album before that happens, but you never know.

Janice Long: Pet Shop Boys interview mentioning Morrissey (January 27, 2020)

Basically - Morrissey comments on the relative chart success of Dusty Springfield vs Sandie Shaw and Tennant observing that it was a "very Morrissey thing to say" (evaluating the merits of someone's existence based on their chart position, I guess :)).

Billy Bragg: long statement re: Morrissey on Facebook (7 July, 2019)

Fair enough - 38% voted to leave, 36% voted to stay, and we don't know what 26% wanted. Either way, 38% is a significant number of people, and a larger in size than the group of people who voiced an opposite opinion. 38% is sufficient to reject the characterization of "Britain wanting to stay...

Billy Bragg: long statement re: Morrissey on Facebook (7 July, 2019)

One thing that makes it difficult to make sense of anti-Morrissey posts is the general expectation that if you support X then you must support Y and Z that people who support X normally support else you're somehow an outcast. It seems to me that, with Morrissey, a whole lot of people hear that...

Why do YOU not have freedom of speech? Or freedom to wear a badge on TV? - @officalmoz / Twitter

He clearly does have the freedom to say the things he says, so it's not strictly true that there's no freedom of speech. But I think he is trying to succinctly attack the trend toward attempts by fairly powerful entities to destroy the livelihood of people who have off-kilter opinions, and it...

"California Son" review by Laura Snapes (1 star, obvs) - The Guardian

I would not be at all surprised if the editorial approach to this one was, "who's going to write the 1-star review of California Son?"

"California Son" review by Oliver Thompson (1/10) - Exclaim!

It bothers me a bit when people start off a review with some kind of lyric from the past to suggest bonafides, but then as you go on you realize that they probably just looked it up this morning to reverse engineer a point they wanted to make from the outset. If you follow this man's career...

"California Son" review in NME by Jordan Bassett (2/5 stars)

Maybe this article represents a UK-centric perspective, but on the idea that his audience has been alienated... the guy just did a string of capacity-crowd North American shows in some of the more liberal areas of the continent, and those tickets weren't cheap!
