Best live performance of a song?

What would you say is the best live performance of song by Moz? I would have to say the Introducing Morrissey version of “Speedway”- spectacular towards the end. Honourable mention - the version of “Life is a Pigsty” that transitions into “Auld Lang Syne” and then explodes into “How Soon is...

Why was “Speedway” cut from Drury Lane 1995 on “Vauxhall and I” 20th anniversary?

Actually, I’m wrong about this aren’t I! Rookie error ahha I mixed up the Drury Lane performance and the “introducing Morrissey” film, what with it being the same set list pretty much - apologies!

Why was “Speedway” cut from Drury Lane 1995 on “Vauxhall and I” 20th anniversary?

It’s the definitive version for me! And i can’t understand why it’s not included on the bonus cd? It was recorded fine, “Shoplifters” obvs was cut due to not being able to perform it due to fans but that recording of “Speedway” is phenomenal

Morrissey Central "SOON / 2020 new releases" (September 6, 2020)

That is worth mentioning! i appear to have neglected who is responsible for the last few Lps I think I must have presumed it was Sam, and if he’s reading - all apologies. Still, aside from the 7 singles, which all came out pretty decent ( aside from Lover to be which I remeber being blurry as...

Morrissey Central "SOON / 2020 new releases" (September 6, 2020)

If it is indeed Sam that’s doing the covers, then I weep in the name of lost potential due to nepotism. Because, as some gifted folk on here have showcased, there’s a wealth of material to be found, period accurate and attractive in design and yet, we are shown what we are shown. I don’t know...

Morrissey Central "SOON / 2020 new releases" (September 6, 2020)

Even if it’s a draft, it’s basically a advertisement for an upcoming release and not a good one at that! On a separate note, The Iron Bridges work is always superior to what has been churned out over the last few years, it seems he cares more about the presentation of Moz more than Moz himself!

Wow, what was this from!?! Japan? I have the Japanese CD of Quarry and it’s the same as the original I believe but this looks great

Morrissey Central "SOON / 2020 new releases" (September 6, 2020)

Continuity has been out of the window for a few years now, the “dog on a chain” cover with the image coming from the mid 2000s, which I perceived was an attempt at immortalised “youth”. Which now makes little sense by using an image from the same era for an album released back in 1995! It’s...

Morrissey Central "SOON / 2020 new releases" (September 6, 2020)

f*** me the artwork is horrendous, I mean, Jesus. To read through “Peepholism” and see Moz describe each font, colour, image and frame of The Smiths artwork so lovingly to this bag of shite - is almost as headache inducing as the For Britain badge. Who is doing the artwork? Sam? Downright...

Ian Brown's tweet upsets some people - it reminds them of Morrissey

Jokes are fine, I don’t agree with what I perceive Ian has attempted to convey and so some light relief is understood. Moz being lumped in only shows how people say they can’t stand him but he is often on the edge of their tongue. But it’s when people start acting smug and high and mighty “I...

Tim's Twitter Listening Party - "The Queen is Dead" with Mike Joyce (Sep. 12, 2020)

Most of the Tims Listening Parties I’ve joined have been great fun and obviously I anticipated a Smiths one at some point, hopefully Steven Street or evening (unlikely) Marr and Rourke could comment every now and then. However, it will likely be filled by know it all commentators trotting our...

Johnny Marr's son calls Morrissey a racist on Instagram

Certainly wasn’t a classic, though Lowden was great as a young Moz, especially during the “Give Him A Great Big Kiss” performance and the Marr meeting.
