A brand new music magazine named "Bang" has just been released in the U.K. and on page 21 of the 'Juice' section is a brand new photo of Morrissey relaxing in his car - very beautiful image! The article goes on to say that the documentary filmed by Channel 4 last year will be called "The Importance Of Being Morrissey" and shows Moz on tour, relaxing at home and visiting a strip joint!?!... The film is 75 minutes long and the producers promise lots of surprises for Morrissey watchers. Will be shown later in the year.

Update: 03/31 17:16 GMT: scan of article.

Fantasy Albums - Themanwhofellasleep. Excerpt:

These are not real albums. Don't go into shops and ask for them. You will only annoy people. These are albums that may one day be made. But not yet.

...Ah, The Smiths. Sadly taken far too seriously by adolescents, who then revisit the albums ten years later and discover the humour. Avoid anyone who actively tries to look like Morrissey. This includes Morrissey.

Blender magazine, which has previously featured a "Do You Rock" interview with Johnny Marr (for those who care, Johnny "most definitely rocks"), has put The Smiths 'Singles' on their list of 500 CDs that are considered "must own."

From Blender :
(under a caption of the 'Singles' CD cover)
"Arguably the greatest British singles band of the '80s. From the sublime ("How Soon Is Now?") to the faintly ridiculous ("There Is A Light That Never Goes Out"), these 45s remain some of the most intoxicating and original songs committed to vinyl. Standout track: "How Soon Is Now?"

Okay, so of course "How Soon Is Now?" had to be the track they most appreciate...but what's with calling "There Is A Light..." faintly ridiculous!?

Black on the Outside, a tribute to the Smiths, is playing a show in Brooklyn on Saturday, April 5th, at Lillie's Bar. The evening, called "Doc Martens and Un-Used Condoms" begins at 10 p.m. Also featured are The Victoria Lucas, who will be doing a one-night-only set of all New Wave covers, and a DJ, who will be spinning all your favorite British 80s stuff.

Lillie's is located at the corner of Beard and Dwight Streets in Red Hook, Brooklyn. As there is no public transportation save the bus, it's best to drive or take a car service. If you don't live in Brooklyn, take the F or G train to the Carroll Street stop and then call a car (Arecibo at 1-718-783-6465 will cost you around $6 from the train station). Call Lillie's at 1-718-858-9822 for more info.
