The radio interview was changed to Sunday. Apparently, they actually announced on the radio that Morrissey would be stopping by at 7pm for an interview. Only 12-15 fans showed up at the station, thus allowing everyone in for some questions and autographs. Right place, right time.

Blockbuster had signs posted that absolutely no camping was allowed. Non-removable numbered bracelets would be handed out between 2 and 3pm on Monday, and a lottery would be drawn at 6pm to determine line placement. This was very disappointing for people who had traveled a long way. The Blockbuster people were very kind. The manager was upset to read "Blockbuster Sucks" on the discussion page, and he wanted to inform everyone that they do not indeed suck. He did comment that Morrissey-solo was a very nice site. When he realized that people had come from all over the country, and even out of the country, he cancelled the lottery, and whoever was in line to get their bracelet between 2 and 3pm got to keep their line position in the order that they arrived. Bracelets were continually handed out up to and through the signing. That was a kind gesture on Blockbuster’s part.

People began arriving that night around 9pm for the 11pm signing. They started letting people in the store at 10:45pm so they could buy the CD and get the cover signed if they wished. They could pick up the CD itself after midnight. Morrissey was smiling and on time at 11pm. It was an emotionally filled event, and everyone had a great story to tell. I’m not sure how long Morrissey stayed. There were still people waiting to get into the store at 1am. I asked the manager how many people showed by his bracelet number count, and he said over 450.

Not bad at all considering that Albuquerque is an expensive place to get to, and a long way from nowhere. It was remarkable.
