Nick Kent - Apathy For The Devil 70s memoir mentions Morrissey Excerpt: Currently reading Nick Kent's 70s memoir Apathy For The Devil and Moz gets couple of mentions.... in 1973/4, according to the author, he was a regular correspondent to Nick Kent, "who wrote letters to me practically every week during that year." There then follows the subject of Morrissey's missives, namely the NY Dolls and how Moz's dream was to escape "dreary Manchester and reinvent himself as one of the Dolls' glitzy entourage in downtown Manhattan."

It is also very vain. Later in the book, Kent foolishly boasts that Reader Meet Author (which he refers to as coming from the "1996" album Southpaw Grammar - sic!) is written about him, which is complete bullshit. He also says the song itself is awful. I had high regard for Kent before I read the book but now that I have it really has put me off him.

Bulging eyes, chain smoking, and constantly pausing to search for that drip in the back of his throat... It's good to see he's still breathing.
God Bless England's number one sycophantic groupie.
