Just wanted to give more details on the Morrissey aftershow party.
It takes place at The Brickhouse nightclub on Whitworth St West in central Manchester. For anyone who wants more Smiths/Morrissey music into the early hours after the great man's concert, its a must. On the night, entrance will put you into a free raffle for a signed Morrissey photo. I MUST PUT THAT MORRISSEY HASN'T CONFIRMED TOO BE HERE (ALTHOUGH HE HAS BEEN INVITED). Tickets are a fiver from ticketline. As for anyone who hasn't had the chance to get tickets for the gig, the weekend prior to the concert, we will be giving away a pair of tickets to see the man.
For more info contact ticketline or Dave at the Brickhouse on 01612364418

  • As everybody who hasn't got them, I'm looking for standing tickets. I have three tickets for Block 209, Row M.

If anybody out there is at all willing to sell theirs, I'm sure we could get to an agreement. My e-mail address is [email protected]

Where are people going to party before and after the gig?

  • We are having a Smiths/Morrissey night at The Brickhouse following Morrissey's gig at the M.E.N arena on May 22nd. The night will be predominantly Morrissey/Smiths based with a smattering of the "best of the rest". There will also be a raffle for anyone in before 12 to win a signed photo of the man himself.
There's club if you'd like to go...

  • I'll just go and I'll stand on my own, and I'll leave on my own, and I'll go home, and I'll cry and want to die. No point.

  • Hi all fantastic news about the gig - a flurry of Moz activity is always a good thing. Shame to hear a few had probs getting tickets (admittedly I would have preferred standing but you cant have it all) and its disheartening to hear the usual ridiculous touting has begun in earnest.

Anyway to the point - I'm after two tickets to the aftershow party for me and my girl. I'm a terminal Morrissey case but its the first time Sal's seeing such a gathering - will she last and still be seeing me on the 23rd? I CANNOT wait for this and I'd really like to make a night of it with you all, am willing to pay sensible prices so get in touch if can help. You'd be a star and get a fair few free drinkys on the night with us.

    Email me on: [email protected]
Viva a larger tour announcement and 'For Your Quarry' to be a worthy comeback.

Regards, Tom Dolan (somewhere in Manchester)

  • how can it be possible that i found two standing tickets for the concert and not even one for the brickhouse?
please, manchester, take me to the brickhouse!
i would love to attend the party, especially since i'm coming from italy... wouldn't it be rude to be rejected at the door after such a long journey?
for any ticket availability, please e-mail me at:

  • can you imagine if he was daft enough to turn up??

It would be like that scene on the beach at the end of "Suddenly last Summer"

    except without Elizaberth Taylor.

unless she has been invited too.

  • i've purchased tickets for the after-show party at the Brickhouse and as a Smiths/Morrissey fan I am looking forward to a great way to carry on the party after the gig with like-minded souls.
I am NOT expecting Morrissey to make an appearance! Anything's possible,I suppose, but let's be realistic, I'm sure he'll be curled up safe and sound somewhere in the Greater Manchester area with a nice cup of tea and a slice of Birthday cake by Midnight at the latest!
I AM expecting loads of great Morrissey/Smiths tunes, getting to dance/singalong to all of them with fellow "disciples",and generally having one of the greatest times of my life at the gig and after.
If you're either at the gig or the after-show and see a very excited looking young man with a quiff, glasses and a "Louder Than Bombs" T-shirt, come and say hello!
"Don't go home tonight, Come out and find the one that you love and who loves you..."

  • Just seen someone flogging a ticket for the after party on Ebay for a silly price and claiming that you'll get to meet Moz himself- if they're referring to the Brickhouse's Morrissey After-Show Party then I'm furious that this "person" is telling blatant lies to make a profit. I organised the event and will also be DJing at it so I want to make a few points clear so no-one gets ripped off or conned.
The Brickhouse is one of Manchester's longest-running Indie clubs (just over 13 years and counting!) and people have been dancing to the Smiths and Morrissey there every week since the day it opened.
The management, barstaff, security (yes, even one of the doormen!) and nearly all of the regulars are going to the MEN gig and we all fancied a party afterwards to celebrate this momentous occasion.
"The Songs That Made You Smile"- our Morrissey After-show Party- was never advertised as THE official after-show party (you can still check the info about the night on www.ticketline.co.uk)! Us common folk don't get into these type of dos (and they're usually not very good parties anyway!). This is a night of Morrissey/Smiths music (and a bit of other suitable stuff) for ordinary fans who want to carry on after the gig with like-minded souls. there's also a free raffle to win an autographed, framed photograph of Moz and there'll be a giant Birthday card for everyone to sign which Sanctuary Records have guaranteed me will get to Morrissey in person. There's loads of other Morrissey/Smiths surprises planned and Sanctuary have promised us some cracking Moz memorabilia etc. to auction off for charity.
We were all taken by surprise when the event sold out in three days, with fans travelling from the USA, France, Italy, Luxembourg ( a buck-toothed girl, maybe?) and all across the UK. We only charged £5 for the first 200 tickets and £10 for the last 20 ( it's only a small club!)which we were going to hold until the night but demand was just to high. As some tickets are being sold on Ebay for £25+ by unscrupulous scoundrels, it's fair to say that we never set out to rip people off with our ticket prices.
I'll be DJing on the night and have been a pashernate fan of Moz/The Smiths since the beginning- I first saw him at the Palace Theatre in Manchester in 1985 on the Meat is Murder Tour and put on this night because I love the man and his music and wanted to have a truly great night carry on after the lights dim on that MEN stage. I aim to give
every fan a chance to request and hear their favourite tune (hope I don't get asked for "Moon River" though).
Incidently, the Saturday night before the gig (15th May) I'll be playing loads of tracks off the new album (I love it more with each listen but my girlfriend's struggling to get used to the keyboards abd breakbeats on some tracks!)at the club and there'll be a free raffle ticket given to everyone who comes down to win the last two Morrissey standing tickets for the Arena and 2 tickets to our After-show Party too. There'll be loads of other quality guitar-driven music too, so it's worth a gamble if you're still stuck without tickets (the club only holds around 200 so the odds of winning are considerably higher that the lottery!).
If you're coming down to the club, make sure you come up to the DJ box and say hello!

  • Lucky you - who else is going to that party?
The one at the Brickhouse is really intended for people who have been to the gig and aren't one of the privileged few.
