In the music video for The Ataris- "The saddest song (acoustic)" the singer is wearing a Smiths shirt, and the child portraying him when he was younger is wearing a Morrissey shirt.

  • I notice how we're starting to see more and more of these similiar post. I hope the bands wearing these shirts are true fans rather than just to wear them to appear "cool". In a way, I hope this turn out to be good publicity for Morrissey since he has a new album coming out soon.

  • The retro 1980s look is rather fashionable right now, so it only makes sense that making reference to the band of the 80s would be fashionable as well. It's similar to the Led Zeppelin t-shirt trend that popped up a few years back. Besides, nearly everyone has one or two Smiths songs on their playlist, regardless of whether or not they know anything about the band.

    I'm amazed at all the crap So-Cal "punk" bands suddenly citing Morrissey & The Smih as an influence. Given how emotionally vacuous and musically sterile most of these bands are, you'd think that after hearing The Smiths for the first time they'd realise they had no hope, and just break up their pathetic little bands.
