BBC at Salford Lads Club (again!)
The BBC are filming again at the Lads Club - are there any foreign Smiths/Morrissey fans in Manchester this week 8th-12th December available to be interviewed?

Suede and England's green and pleasant land
Went to see Suede on their last tour in Glasgow on Sunday and their intro tune was Jerusalem - not the "Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner One" but the same tune nonetheless! (used as the intro during Morrissey's 1995 tour)

Morrissey on Pop Idol?
I've had it on good authority that the Pop Idol contestants will each have to sing a Smiths song next week.

  • That would be the most amazing thing ever!
Smiths songs transmitted live to a hugely popular, prime-time Saturday evening TV show?
That's just too good to be true. It would be the biggest single exposure that Smiths songs have ever had here in the UK. Can you imagine the Pop Star contestants having to sing non-cliché-ridden lyrics in a natural English accent for once? Lord, please let this be true!
    John.

  • I can just picture Michelle singing "You're The One For Me, Fatty". (I know it's not a Smiths song, but y'know, the sentiments there.)

Oh, and will they use the stylish karaoke pick n' mix CD for the backing music?

  • Erm...would have been interesting a week ago with Morrissey-ite Chris, clinging to the lyrics with his dark-rim glasses caressing his face.Felt since I saw him their was a chance for a Mini-Mozzer to arrive (not that he would ever have a doppelganger in any form!),but alas, the day sadly never arrived.
Personally think the panel ought to have caught onto the Smiths Morrissey style a few weeks ago.
Doubt it will happen, yet it would be great to see on a Saturday night live show.Really cannot comprehend that Morrissey has not been mentioned around Lifetime Achievement Awards, maybe a good place to start?

  • I can just see Six-head and Dec going 'Aye, they've got really deep lyrics, like...'

I think not! Nice thought though.
