Johnny Bramwell of I Am Kloot on the finest ever gig to rock his socks: Morrissey

The Greatest...

"I went to see Morrissey in Bath in 1988, just after he went solo. Entry was on a first come, first served basis, but although we were miles away from the door, when Moz turned up everyone chased after his bus, so I ended up at the front of the queue. It was an incredible gig. I've never seen so many stage invasions. The second he came on he was buried beneath an avalanche of daffodils and his shirt was ripped off in seconds. He did about 50 minutes including "There Is A Light..." I Started the gig down the front but soon retired to the balcony with a drink. I'm quite short and the groundswell was too much for me"

Slightly dodgy facts, me thinks. Everyone who hasn't heard of I Am Kloot should check them out at www.iamkloot.com. NME recently described him as the best lyricist operating in the UK and it's hard to disagree. For now ...

Andy Rourke was at the I Am Kloot gig at The Ritz, Manchester last night (October 12th) along with the rest of the Manchester glitterati. I Am Kloot were amazing, by the way.
