Morrissey mentioned in new official Suede book

There is a new Suede book coming out November 3rd. It mentions the story about Morrissey covering 'My Insatiable One' and other things such as Brett asking Morrissey to "come around for an E".
The book is written by David Barnett.

  • Fashions and bands come and go...

    Suede remain constant...whether that is a good or a bad thing is up for debate depending on your own feelings about them. Me? I love them...I love that Morrissey covered "My Insatiable One"...I love that Brett managed to rise above indiedom and become a true rock and roll star in a way that so many others never will.

    Just my opinion.

  • Moz is as much important for me as Brett.I'm so glad,that suede got this great single out!!i love this chorus!!as for his connections with Moz,it's great that this guys do respect each other.And that's very important for me!!

  • I was amazed when I first saw them live. Not only for the sake of the Brett ass-shaking, the Bowie flavoured pop songs and the guitar hero on the rise but mainly because of the way the whole band sounded really together. They sounded so right that the concerts made their records sound over-produced and deadpan. Even when I saw the first concert ever of Richard Oakes, despite his lack of experience, it seemed that they couldn't do better in a studio.

    Thereafter, I think Moz got a bit mad at Brett cause he said to the press that Morrissey was actually really boring. I just hope that he got over it since !
    Now mentioning Morrissey and the Smiths in a Suede book is the very least the author could do given the influence they had on Brett and his pals, from the band's name to the lyrics.

  • does anyone know the why's and the whereabouts of how Mike Joyce ended up playing drums on their first single, 'Be My God/Art'?

    I've always wondered about this. Maybe they just asked him and he was flattered? (Suede were always huge Smiths fans).
