  • Hey Venus oh Venus
    Venus if you will
Please send a little girl for me to KILL
A girl who wants my kisses and my COCK
A girl with NONE OF the charms of you
    Venus make her SICK
A lovely girl with sunlight AND A DICK
And take the brightest stars up in the sky
And KICK HER IN THE EYES FOR ME
Venus, goddess of love that you are
    Surely the things I CRAVE
WILL PUT HER IN HER GRAVE
    Venus, if you do
I promise that I WILL STAB HER TILL SHE'S BLUE
I'll give her all the HATE I have give
As long as we both shall live.
Venus , goddess of love that you are
    Surely the things I DESIRE
WILL MAKE HER HOUSE CATCH FIRE
    Venus , if you do
I promise that I WILL STAB HER TILLS SHE'S THROUGH
I'll give her all the HATE I have to give
As long as we both shall live.
    Hey Venus oh Venus
    Make my wish come true

True friends stab you in the front.
  • Albeit it's a personal interpretation, but it's not that bad.

I like the eyes and hair, and the leaness of the torso. However, I wouldn't paint Morrissey with quite so many bright colours.

  • It's certainly colourful...it would definitely stand out on a grey rainy day. Perfect way to imagine Morrissey as a clown...

  • Although visually interesting I see no likeness to Morrissey at all in this artwork.
If the artist was trying to convey this Impression to the viewer, I think they've failed.
This may be an Impression of Morrissey to the artist on a personal level but to expect anyone else to get this is stretching it.
That being said, its obvious the artist has talent and I'm left wondering what the rest of their work looks like.

  • The body is quite accurate, the hands are great and the neck is spot on. Maybe the bright colours represent Morrissey's new found optimism...? As for the face, well I'm still working on that, at the moment he looks a bit like Stan Laurel auditioning to be a clown. I will, however, have to let the image incubate for a while and I might wake up in the morning convinced that it's a work of genius.

  • I think the colors are great. I might have had a clue with the hair and the torso, but without someone saying to me "This is Morrissey", I probably wouldn't have really known.

ScottyK said it best. I agree with him.

Yeah i know i sound like a tit but just give it a go.

    Anonymous -- Wednesday August 13 2003, @09:21AM (#71541)
  • Obviously, there's a lot of artistically-ignorant posters here who haven't yet even got out of the 19th century (let alone the 20th) and realised that any old copy-cat with a paintbox and above average powers of patience can bore everyone senseless with works of photo-realism. Luckily though, we have cameras to do that kind of thing nowadays. Yet, leaving them to their Athena prints, as a perspicacious insight into the various nuances of Morrissey's psychology, this is pretty witty and impressive piece of observation.
