Alain Whyte played 2 of his Motivators songs live on Liz Kershaw's show today Monday 30th June. The 2 songs he played solo and live in the studio were called Where You Ever in My Life and Stuck. Inbetween those 2 Liz played Black Dog Day from a demo CD. His guitar playing was very good and his singing wasn't bad at all but I'm sure it will be available for anyone interested to listen to soon on the website http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/presenters/liz_kershaw/ He said he wanted to get the Motivators tracks recorded properly perhaps with Brendan Lynch producing before they made the Morrissey album. Which he said they would probably be recording in October.

The whole thing started late, with the first support (some woeful racket) on at 9.00, so the Motivators didn't hit the stage until nearly 11.00. They looked great (does Gary Day have a hideous portrait in his attic? He doesn't seem to have aged one day!), sounded great and were clearly having fun.
Then the bass drum failed - how rare is that? And what's rarer? They found a spare bass drum in the wine bar downstairs!! Bizarre.
They've definitely got some cracking songs there, and only one or two sounded a bit 'ploddy'. Alain's voice was great and his playing was something else! I had no idea he was such an exceptional guitarist. Must say that Gary shone too with some fantastic bass lines. Seriously talented chaps - it's good to see them doing this, and very good to know it's still business as usual with them and Morrissey.
Try to catch 'em live if you can - well worth it.

Morrissey'd better watch out (Score:1)
The songs are effortless, and they played (and sang) extremely well.
On the strength of a show like this one, they are going to make it big.
Morrissey will no doubt want to STEAL these songs. Don't know if it's mainly Alain Whyte or Gary Day who wrote them but they kick serious arse.
Simply amazing stuff...

I didn't like that 'Baby I'm Strange' song at all, it sounded like cheesy '80's cock-rock.
