  • ......... for taking the time to provide all the info.

I had a look through the UK Saturday papers today and it’s good to see that virtually all have highlighted the documentary as “one to watch” in the week ahead.

It'll be interesting to see whether it's reviewed favourably.

  • I can't believe we are only 10 hours or so away from the TV documentary!
My wife and I have been "test videoing" channel 4 all morning.
Never has a TV programme been anticipated so much!
I find it so much more thrilling that he has been mentioned and discussed by the media/people in general rather than just us fans.

As we glance across the fantastic scans by English Marytr from all those magazines you find in hairdressers a smile cracks and you want to shout from the rooftops:

"WE TOLD YOU HE WAS A GENIUS!!!!"

Shame nobody in the US of A can see it! (slight smirk!)

  • The documentary will be available for free on the net a few hours after it has broadcast. I'm initially going to put a USB streamed version on Kazaa, and later in the week there'll be a fantastic quality (straight from digital video) version to download which will be the equal of anything that rip-off merchant Jane is offering.

Also, 56k modem users wanting to see the doc - a smaller file will be on Kazaa tomorrow night. If you'd like a DVD or VCD copy, post on the marketplace forum (link at the top left) and I'm sure some of the board regulars will be happy to sort you a copy for the price of postage and a blank disc. Don't waste your money by lining this "Jane Winston" (aka Mozzerian - regular forum wanker) prick's pockets!

  • for all american and other countries, you can get the DVD of this by emailing [email protected], the best quality and to be honest this is an HOUR long documentary following moz for 7 months, you want to see it in its best quality possible and not waiting 50 hours for it to download. Only $20 including FREE postage anywhere, so email [email protected] for the dvd, cheers moz fans.

  • Ok, Jane Winston, we've heard you. If you try to advertise the DVD you'll be selling once more I will personally visit you to vomit in your mailbox and your DVD-recorder.

    Bugger off!

  • As much as I am looking forward to tonight's documentary, I find it odd that the show is being advertised as containing Morrissey's first televised interview in 16 years, i.e. since the South Bank Show in 1987.
When he appeared on Later With Jools Holland in 1995, apart from performing Boy Racer and Sunny, he also chatted with Jools Holland about the New York Dolls, Cornelius Carr and boxing in general. He was also interviewed by Graham Norton when Norton was guest host of The Jack Docherty show in the early days of Channel 5; and he also appeared in a documentary on Marc Bolan around 1997, when he was interviewed sitting in his car at the side of the road.

Still...should be good stuff. Bring it on.

  • Channels 4’s Teletext, page 122, (a pre historic internet available on English TV’s) has the following:

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEIGN MORRISSEY. C4, 11.15pm

Many will only remember Morrissey as the strange chap who wailed on Top Of The Pops with a hearing aid in his ear and clutching gladioli.

Despite such wonky behaviour, the man drew a cult following in the ‘80’s with his lyrics about the depressing side of the human condition.

Here he gives his first TV interview in 16 years. Why is he talking now? Anything to do with the fact he doesn’t have a recording contract.

  • I couldn't say no.

I am so excited I can hardly bring myself to wee. Is it wrong to feel this way at 30 years old? Surely it must be? This is the behaviour of some pre-adolescent Justin Timberfake fan. Oh, I don't care.

  • I didn't know he had a dog, it was lovely. Good interview with Moz, funny as always. I think James O'Brian is gay.
    Anonymous -- Sunday June 08 2003, @04:25PM (#64452)
  • Blimey... he really does look like David Dickinson. As the programme wore on and the camera got closer to his mouth I could almost imagine Morrissey taking out his dentures and popping them in a glass beside the bed. How 1950's!

So he goes to a Barbers to get a hair cut and is offended by the pictures of hunting scenes. He could have not gone there.

His friend James looked gorgeous though!

  • some thoughts (Score:1, Informative)

-lots of interviews with Alain Whyte, he comes across well
-brief chat between Moz and Deano!
-some nice pics of the band and Morrissey wandering around together
-a bit too much of Morrissey's friend James.
-Moz claims not to know what the word 'homo-erotic' means!
-bit before they enter stage at Albert Hall is amusing. Moz and band seem v nervous and shake each other's hands!
-Nancy Sinatra describes him as a great hugger!
-lots of Noel Gallagher and Bono; both quite funny
-some footage of the band meeting Oasis (Alain shaking Liam's hand!)
-Liam Gallagher says something like, "nice scooter Moz!"
    -loads of Linder clips
-generally Moz comes across as pretty funny although wishing Mike Joyce the very worst for the rest of his life is probably the low point (they then played "beware I bear more grudges..."
-get to hear quite a lot of 'First of the gang' and the outro to 'Irish blood'
-Moz looks incredibly different in the different light, sometime young and gorgeous, other times less so!
-Joanne Rowling v keen that he gets a record deal!
-right it's bed-time for me. will leave it for others to fill in the gaps!
