MORRISSEY IS BACK WITH VENOM

Pop legend Morrissey launches fresh attacks on the Royal Family and Tony Blair in a new documentary. And in his first major TV interview in 16 years, the outspoken Manchester singer and vocal veggie returns to his 'Meat is Murder' theme.

'It's on the same moral leval as child abuse. It's the same thing.' he insists. 'Animals are like children. They look to us for protection and we should protect them.'

He added 'I feel quite smug about mad cow disease and foot and mouth. I just think ''well what do you expect?'' People have been saying it for years. It's all abuse and it's all human evil. Which is why I think the Royal Family are evil, because they enjoy foxhunting. These are despicable people.'

The Importance Of Being Morrissey is due to be screened on Channel 4 next month. A film crew was given exclusive access to the enigmatic former lead singer of The Smiths on tour last year and inside his Los Angeles home.

Still without a record deal, Morrissey lives up to his eccentric image, taking tea with Nancy Sinatra and explaining how he never uses the telephone - communicating instead by fax.
