I just heard Pearl Jam on the radio singing "Panic". it was for a "Sonic Session" (acoustic and intimate) at a Philadelphia radio station Y-100. It will probably be released on a compilation cd the station puts out.

Hi,

i would b delighted if you let the people on your site know that Pearl Jam did not cover panic. It was Pete Yorn who does a terrible impersonation of one Mr. Ed Vedder, lead singer of Pearl Jam. there are many wannabe Ed Vedder's out there and Pete Yorn is one of *The Worst*, vile really. So please let the public know. Also how dare anyone talk bad about Pearl Jam , a band that fights for gay rghts (vedder's dad was gay), animal rights ( all band members are vegetarian) and womens rights etc, all the while making great music and saying" fuck you " to the media by rarely doing interviews and not making videos for mtv. Pearl Jam are very important, the only band out that realy gives a shit.

peace , love , pearl jam and morrissey to ya

"Pearl Jam is vilified by the mainstream media like no other band, precisely because they offend the more powerful members of the music industry the way punk should have all along -- by threatening and/or ignoring the very machinery of record sales.Pearl Jam is one of the best examples of a band with "truly punk ethics" in music today. • This is worse news than Hootie covering please, please, please. Pearl Jam is a terrible band; Nirvana under-studies.

  • Pearl Jam is a brilliant band and if you open your mind a bit you may be able to appreciate another style of music. Excellent musicians with integrity as obviously witnessed by their choice to cover Panic. I also recommend Pete Yorn's cover of Panic. Good news indeed and this is surely to be downloadable in days with them having such a large fan base. For people who think of Jeremy when they hear Pearl Jam I challenge you to investigate their Yield or Vs. albums.

  • I will bad mouth Pearl Jam, as they are truly awful! Tuneless pap with fake emotions. PLus Eddie Vedders voice is perhaps one of the most annoying in music (along with Ronan Keating!) Lets hope Pearl Jam all die in a horrible train wreck sometime shortly!

  • Very few on this site are about spite and malice but those that are have time to post as most are unemployed. The majority of people who use this site are open minded lovers of music as a true art form...perfection. The kind Morrissey has achieved during his years with the Smiths and as a solo artist. We are open to finding things we like in music we choose, not looking for things to hate.
Morrissey's music may be found very depressing by most but I find a sort of intense realist joy in it. I easily and often find myself lost in the words morrissey paints with. People who post negatively here about Morrissey should not be visiting in my opinion. The last three words of that last sentence were 'in my opinion'.
Oh the joys you could feel if you only allowed yourself to.
By the way this is not so much of a reply to your post but something I have wanted to voice for a short while now. Stop and think about what your life would have been like without Morrissey deciding to perform for you and sell his life (one unreplaceable at any cost life) to the public eye.

that resolves that, I'm buying all thier alblums now.

Jen - You're right, Pearl Jam is a good rock back - however all the other things you mention don't improve the sound that comes out of the speaker. When you are talking about music - thats all that matters - how they vote, what they believe, how brave they are to stop making music videos (once they've become famous) - don't enter into the picture at all.

  • Hey Jen, Pearl Jam sucks. I didn't realise Pete Yorn was trying to rip off Pearl Jam, they sound nothing alike. Pete Yorn isn't great I am no fan, but he isn't terrible. He covered Panic on a cd at least a year ago. SO I have no idea why this is news. Oh yeah, Pearl Jam sucks, sorry I didn't know his dad.
