In this month's edition of MOJO they did a short interview with Pete Burns.

What’s your favourite Saturday Night Record?

"Hand In Glove by The Smiths. They amazed me, and that song was absolutely wonderful. I always have a Smiths or Morrissey album when I’m on tour, because they sum up the sheer misery of being on the road. It’s a crying shame that there isn’t a new Morrissey record any time soon".

Whatever happened to Morrissey's friendship with Pete Burns?

  • Pete Burns is fantastic. Antone see him on Never Mind the Buzzcocks? he was fecking hilarious, really showed up Mark Lamarr and those muppet comedians for the ignorant fools they are.

Are Him and Moz still in touch? it'd be cool if Moz were to guest on a Pete Burns album.

In a recent edition of 'The Guide' (a listings magazine that comes free with the saturday edition of the National newspaper 'The Guardian' in Britain), there was an interview with Pete Burns. As I recall, he was asked about Morrissey, and what happened to their friendship, and he said something about it being over when he [Burns] started to wear fur! He might have been being flippant or throwaway, however!

Sounds like they had a bitter falling out, if you read the article linked above.

And we all know how loyal Morrissey is to old friends...
