"Please note...

WE HAVE NOT SIGNED MORRISSEY!

Whatever The Thrills said on the Janice Long Show you misheard it alright!

They DID NOT say 'Setanta'"

No doubt those Morrissey rumours are not true,
such a shame, i nearly broke sweat, but not quite....
Anyhow blame 'The Thrills', they started it.
    Having said that,
I'm sure he would sign for a nice nut-cutlet, a bunch of flowers, a 'Carry On' box set and Oscar Wilde's daughter Kim...
well that's if you'd have him!

Well of course you would, what am i on about,
he's the daddy of them all.
Well like any good Morrissey fan I leave disappointed, once again
in to the cold night air, is that a Russ Abott lyric?!
    take care,
    sorry for wasting your time,
    Burt Reynolds

Is this e-mail # 2000 from the over zealous fans,
you'll never quite meet people as passionate as Moz fans, no way!
We're a scary bunch, send those Cliff Richard fans crying we would!

LOL well you gotta laugh.....i think!

  • Well the session is not available at this time, cause it's a daily show and they replace the latest session on the website everyday.
But once it's on the show's sessions archive everybody could have a listen.

It sure sounds like Setanta, but the name is really hard to make out.

However they did say he was signed and Janice agreed!

  • This is getting ridiculous. What are we on now...about 13 defuted deals. And we have a puny record label posting on their website that they have not signed an artist...just to save them the time in answering their emails and keeping their channels open for other "important" business and inquiries.

If this not enough evidence for at least some record labels with integrity to realize the intensity of this thing, I must be reading about something else here on moz solo. Over the last couple years, it has grown to a head...and something is bound to happen...2000 fans in a matter of 2 hours? Are you kidding? Offer the band a deal that is worth it...I am sure with people like us...you won't have a problem seeing your stupid ROI...tossers! I am not talking about just Setanta...but anyone...I guess you are right in just getting a laugh out of the entire thing!

    • I am trying to figure out just how bad the sells must have been from Maladjusted. It is critically acclaimed, endless enjoyment for me and mine. (Though I know I have seen many posts that discredit this work in comparision to the work before) I still believe it is mentally and culturally in tune with insight which should make it's sells continue into the future. Were the sales of this album so low that a company cannot see the gain in paying for Morrissey (what he demands for his art) and still recovering a hefty heep of profit themselves over time. The only thing that comes to mind is with The Smiths, we all encouraged our friends how real The Smiths were and they gave it go and were hooked as we are. As we got older we had to rebuy everything on cd, which we bought again becuase it was stolen from us, and then bought again becuase that copy had scatch. Now maybe it is this stop in spreading among the culture that has slowed down the labels beleif in his profiablity.

I wonder how bad Maladjusted did, does anyone know? Does it continue to have buyers? I fear this is what is stopping a producer from investing.

          Oh, it's okay :)

Even if he decides to never sign, he's given us so much anyway. But, I don't feel that Morrissey is ready to stop.

I agree with you - we should just be patient - I don't think he'd say something and then let us down. He once said that you should never talk about something until you are sure it's going to happen. Because when you do that and it doesn't happen, you're left to explain why. We already know that he's got enough songs for two LPs and that he's searching for a label...so waiting is just what we must do.

  • In the most recent statement from Boz he indicated that he would let us know as soon as a record deal was set. So until I hear it from him I would consider all rumours to be false. Someone out there must be getting alot of laughs by starting these record deal rumors. Perhaps I will make up the next one since people are still getting such a rush out of it.

  • Perhaps we should stop posting record contract rumours from now on until it is confirmed. Can anyone count how many false rumours there have been since 1997? With every false rumour that I experience I get dragged down further and feel less and less confident about Morrissey.

  • "If fame left me, I couldn't imagine living. But I wouldn't ungracefully cling to fame. If it slid away, so be it..."

From a Morrissey interview in Blitz magazine, and I think it pretty well answers why there is no new Morrissey album.

    =)
