The Thrills were on The Janice Long Show on BBC Radio 2, on Monday, March 10th. They said among other things about Morrissey, that he has now signed to Setanta!?

It was discussed on the message board, here.

This session will probably be on the show's sessions archive shortly.

  • Somehow, I've lost hope.
    I've simply lost hope.

  • Quick! Some body contact Boz so he can dispel this rumor (and crush our hearts all over again).

  • Just come to Chicago so I can show you that I have YOUR NAME tattooed on my chest above my heart.

I waited in line 4 hours to see you in 1997- and it was worth the wait.

With love and all my heart,
    KEN

  • Well, Setanta would't be such a bad choice, thinking about their previous and current artists (The Catchers - one of the greatest bands in the whole galaxy!).. Money-wise I'm not so sure they could offer him mega-loads of money, though (just to refer to the previous sums of money allegedly offered..!) Am I still gullible ??? I guess I live in hope..!
An official update from Setanta would be great before they let us stew too long again..

  • Oh, please, please, please come to Philadelphia, the city of "brotherly love", Morrissey, and see your name tattooed on my left testicle, just for you.

    I love you,

Today in the NY Times online there was an article about how Natalie Merchant left Elektra and is putting her next cd out on her own label.Interesting read.Anything is better than nothing.

  • I just have to ask people this question: Don't you think being a Moz fan is more frustrating than being a fan of any other artist?

I had only just took up running (once a week) when he released Maladjusted - I have since gone on to get a full running scholarship last year. When I think this to myself it really rams home the fact that it has been just too long.

Throw your NME copy onto the fire, come out and find the one you love!!!
  • I never even heard of this label before today. They probably wouldn't have been a good label for Moz in the first place.

  • Perhaps they were living up to their name and giving us all a cheap thrill by mentioning Morrissey being signed?!

Then again, perhaps they simply genuinely believed he is signed to a label. If so fellas, please clarify.

BTW, I didn't post the topic that Morrissey had signed because I didn't make out the name of the label they gave and I didn't believe that I would hear first it anywhere other than Morrissey-solo.

  • They are shit. Totally lacked charisma when they opened for Moz. They are so retro and derivative that they make The Strokes sound like My Bloody Valentine. One Teenage Fanclub is enough.
