Dec. 28th indie darlings Jetenderpaul played a last minute, intimate gig at the Cup and Saucer in Kansas City, MO. I was lucky enough to be there, and am damn glad I was, as most of the set were covers! Echo and the Bunnymen, "Just Like Heaven" by the Cure and then, as a finale, they tore into an unbelievably killer version of Morrissey's "Last of the Famous International Playboys," complete with mic cord whipping courtesy of Randall Stephens. It was a great night. Wish you coulda been there...

Since it's been the wrong kind of snow on the Chesney Hawkes cheese board, I thought I'd send in this little snippet from around Chris Evans' deepest trouser region... Dec. 28th West Indies spin-darling Shivnarine Chanderpaul played an Elastaplast mandolin solo, whilst imitating Morrissey's googly* with a Cup and Saucer made of Weetabix, in Candy Darling's Candy Shop in Kandy. I was lucky enough to be there, and am damn glad I was a hyperactive crustacean called Gerald, as most of the set were covers! Echo Beach boy band and Mrs Honeyman's pekes, "Just Like Evan Dando's pantomime hearse" by the Cure and then, as a finale, they tore into an unbelievably killer version of Maurice E Smith's "Last of the Famous International Playdoh floristry kits," complete with Michael Foot's pyjama cord whipping courtesy of Derek Randall & Hopkirk Stephens (diseased). It was a great big fib. Wish you coulda been a Tibetan set-square made of beetroot......
