The Bay Area's best band, The Aislers Set, has an incredible new album out soon called "How I Learned To Write Backwards." On it, they lovingly pinch (appropriate) the line "It's the bomb that will bring us together" for the track "The Train #2." And, they even borrow a bit of the melody for good measure. You'll have to listen closely though...it's buried pretty deep in the mix.

Also of interest is the bit in the credits where they joke that "the words and music of Holland, Dozier, Holland, The Smiths, and Leonard Cohen" could be used without permission.

The album will be out Feb. 11, so do yourself a favor and pick it up.

  • I've heard the record as well and I think it's fantastic. Definitely fans of The Smiths will like this record. Lyrically it's up to par with the intelligence that The Smiths lyrics have.
