Tonight, Moz didn't wear the Priest suit. He wore pinstriped dark pants & changed his shirt several times & threw it out twice. The band also wore kilts. There also was no "MORRISSEY" background. How fitting would that have been since this IS Las Vegas? There were people from all over as usual... London (Surrey, UK), Philly, NYC, Phoenix and of course So Cal. I did get a copy of the set list (see below). There was only 1 encore though. My personal favorites were Shakespeare's Sister (first time hearing that), Bigmouth and Friday. How can anyone not love this Man? I love you Morrissey! Come back to Phoenix!

How Soon Is Now
as you can see, setlist was shaken up pretty good. HSIN to close, Couldn't Last in the middle, no Everday Is Like Sunday...only one encore after 3 in LA.
"Friday Mourning" live debut, I believe
no priest outfit, the band in kilts.
no "MORRISSEY" lights in back, or the usual dramatic lighting.
no stage invaders, a few outstretched arms touched.
introduced jesse as "the everlasting jesse tobias"....does this mean he's staying?
after introducing the band as the "ravishing beauties", he said, "and I am a pain in the ass". Moz also mooned crowd during "Jesus", turned back to audience during "Daddy's Voice" after the "strangest directions" line, and ended How Soon Is Now on all fours with his bum to the audience.
4 different shirts worn, only one thrown into crowd...pandemonium ensued.
thanked those that have been following the tour, calling them the "irregular regulars"
someone gave Moz a piece of paper to which he replied, "Uh No, sorry. Not tonight. But Happy Birthday. And if it's any consolation, and it's probably not, it's also my mother's birthday today."
final comment before How Soon Is Now, "Just remember...whatever happens, I love you..."
Overall, it was a bit anticlimactic, I saw better shows this tour, and the Las Vegas show in April was loads more exciting...but I truly hope that this isn't it...
and to echo everyone else's thoughts--R.I.P. Ol' Dirty Bastard.

Well anyway, then he eventually came on the audience. Some people in the front row had their mouths open, you know, in anticipation of the cum.
That was indeed the highlight of the show. Thank God he was not in that priest outfit because that would have been too much like my childhood..having to see priests pleasuring themselves in front of me.

No? Well, at least how about a website that’s interactive, with him on line regularly (though for ludites like me who’s lucky to keep a connection for 15 minutes, and is probably riddled with viruses and multiply hacked, that mightn’t be much good either!)
But how about this idea? He takes over John Peel’s radio slot! I bet the dear man would look down and bless that; it would ensure some continuity of approach, and would mean that those people around the world who value a live connection with Morrissey would not be losing out. What do ye think? Anyway more tours are hardly out of the picture yet. But isn’t it easy to pontificate about other people’s decisions even when one’s stumbling blindly oneself. Still, I know it’s gonna happen one day…. Important to try to keep the head, maybe like this:
You are driving along on a wild stormy night. You pass by a bus stop, and you see three people waiting for the bus:
1. An old lady who is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect man or woman you have been dreaming about.
Which one would you choose, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car? This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application. You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first; or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be a chance to pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your perfect dream lover again.
Think before you continue reading..................................
The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer.
WHAT DID HE SAY? He simply answered:
"I would give the car keys to my old friend, and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the woman of my dreams."
Sometimes, it is claimed, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought limitations! (think "out of the box").

The weather was cool and overcast but waiting on line went by quickly. I got to finally meet some great "regular irregulars" that went to many of the shows. A special shout out to JD, Scott, Kate, Nancy, Craig, Larry and his lovely family. Special thanks to a certain platinum blonde with a slow Southern drawl who was quite helpful.
The diehards got to the railings first. Hubby and I were fortunate to be right behind them! The band came on in the red kilts and NYDoll shirts while Deano performed topless Las Vegas showgirl style. Moz wore a red blazer, mellon colored shirt and grey pinstripe pants. Blazer came off quickly and he went right into Shakespear's Sister. Two other shirt changes followed.
The setlist was already posted before. Here were some of the highlights:
Bigmouth Strikes Again -- Footstomping fun
Daddy's Voice -- Featuring cocky strut and altered lyrics (someONE got stuck in his throat)
Y'Know I Couldn't Last -- High drama and alot of fist punching into the air
Mozmic Song of the Evening -- The More You Ignore Me -- Moz was being quite the coquette leaning against the side walls and peering around the corner a la Tomorrow video-style. The folks on the side got most of the touchie-feelies. Many who wrote notes to him were accepted by him very graciously.
The encore finished. Something that looked like a cover for the drum was tossed into the crowd along with a drumstick.
All in all a great evening, Happy Birthday Ms. Dwyer, Leona and Girl with Flower in Hair. Come back soon, Moz. Whatever happens, I love you, too!

I was up with the first group of people in line and did not want to lose that by getting my camera confiscated so I checked it along wth my coat. Well that's the only bad news- as the show was GREAT and I was front and center wth only a beautiful Moz-Tour girl between me and Moz. I tried desperately to get her onstage but my rush and a push to get her over the barricade was thwarted by security and I sadly had to watch them pull away the sweet woman who was kind enough to let me hold her during "Let Me Kiss You" ... *sigh*

Right after I checked in I saw Morrissey's bodyguard outside on the sidewalk, holding a phone to his ear, and looking up the road, obviously waiting for a car to arrive. I sat down inside the check-in spot and tried to wait and stare as inconspicuously as I could. The bodyguard came in and looked past me a few times. I'm not sure if I escaped his radar or if he knew I was waiting. Either way, he left me alone.
After about 20 mintues a black car pulled up and Arturo (I think that's his name) walked over to it. I got my camera ready. Morrissey got out of the car, along with his manager, I think. There was maybe one other person with them; I'm not sure. I was taking pictures from behind the glass, trying not to be too paparazzi-like.
Morrissey looked great. He had on jeans and a black jacket (I think) and a black carry-on bag over his shoulder. At some point he looked over and noticed me taking pictures. I smiled embarrassingly and at one point I think he made an open-mouth -type face, like he sometimes does for the camera. Unfortunately that picture didn't come out. (It's a new camera and I'm still learning how to use it.)
He seemed to be standing outside the airport for a long time, outside of the car, along with the few people with him. I remember Arturo had asked someone at the airport earlier whether it was possible to leave a rental car there for five minutes or something--so maybe they were waiting for that reason. As I was taking pictures, a few airline employees came over to me and asked me interestedly, who it was. I said Morrissey. They said who's that. I said he's a singer. They said what does he sing. I said he sings songs. I was not really concentrating on answering their questions, but trying to observe and take pictures.
I was hoping that they would come throught the doors where I was so that I could I could just hang back and watch them walk by and maybe wave or something, but it didn't seem that they were going to come through the doors I was near, but rather enter through the doors a bit further down. As they were standing there for what seemed like such an interminably long time, but was probably at the most a minute or two, I summoned up my courage and walked over.
I just introduced myself and Morrissey intimated that he recognized me from previous concerts. Unfortunately, I hadn't planned any further beyond telling him my name and at this point became completely awe-struck and simply repeated what he had said to me back to him. Not overly impressed with my locution skills, understandably, Moz and his men prepared to leave to walk through the glass doors. I had hoped to take a picture of him close up or to ask to take a picture together, but his body language suggested this would not be welcome, so I dropped that idea.
As he walked away I tried to piece together a few words of thanks. I then hung back a bit and then went into the airport too. Technically, I HAD to follow them to go through security, but I didn't want to trail them too closely. While I was walking, maybe 30 paces or so behind, Morrissey and his bodyguard would look back toward me every so often, as if they were afraid I was going to do something annoying. So I stopped walking and turned around to dawdle for a bit to give them some space.
As I did this, someone said, "miss," and I turned back around. Someone, I think Morrissey's manager, thanked me for being understanding. (And I suppose not bothering Morrissey too much.) I told him that I was just happy to see Morrissey and didn't plan on harassing him.
I then walked to get in the line for the security check. Moz and his bodyguard were now halfway up the line and facing

That wasn't a very serious request. I figured that I stood very little chance of that given the crowd he attracts, but I just had to throw it out there anyway. Sort of like wishing you could win $1 million or that you could be well-liked, it's just sort of the general "don't we all" wishes that you have to espouse within your lifetime when the vague chance of it coming to pass actually presents itself.
I had my own worries flying in that day. The flight I chose had two stops and I knew there was a cold front wavering around somewhere, which means poor weather, which could mean delays. Gladly, that went off without a hitch and I landed in Vegas on time.
There was something very strange about Vegas that I noticed from the moment I landed: I remembered where everything was from the moment I looked out the window.
I don't usually remember shit. Matter of fact, the last time I went to the old house, i felt disoriented driving that night trying to remember where to turn off on the backroads that I should have known so well as I had been subjected to them for so many years.
This is where I take you back to 5 years ago when the show at the HOB was canceled due to Alain's back spasms, and then the drive down the road to Coachella where i was squashed by an over-eager audience. I was towards the front and right, but even with that one show, I noticed that he favors his right side, ie, the people on his right get more of his presence.
However, one viewing in that circumstance is not the same as establishing a set pattern, so when we got to the Joint that night and was pointed to the right side of the stage by my friend, I went ahead and accepted it. The stage was small, and i was surprised that I got anything that close since we arrived at 7pm, and more winningly for me, I was surrounded by other girls who were about my height and therefore, I could see every last inch of the stage.
When we arrived and were standing in line in the lobby, I noticed something very disconcerting: there was Morrissey wandering around amongst the fans!
No, I had to squint harder to see that damn, that was a good impersonation of him. More accurately, this guy was 1995 Morrissey, complete with blue blazer. To be even more accurate, this was 1995 Morrissey if he were a player. Oh god, did this guy ooze ickiness. Regardless of who he was talking to, they got a creepy neck massage.
I had walked through security without a pat-down or a bag check. I realized that i could have brought a camera and nobody would have cared to look!!!!
Strike one for the evening.
I noticed upon walking inside that it sounded like the special morrissey mix tape was playing from the Serge Gainsbourg song. I couldn't recognize anything else after that, but I figured that must be his stuff and that it must mean that there was indeed no opening band...of which, my friend confirmed as much.
I was so relieved when that news came. At that point, I could not have stood for an opening band. I was so nervous and excited about it that it would have been like when I was a kid and wanting to open my christmas presents but the adults were too busy hanging around in the kitchen and talking at the dinner table.
In the meantime, who shows up but our good pal 1995 Morrissey. He cuts in front of everyone including myself and first gives my friend a neck massage before worming his way up to the guy in front of me and giving him a neck massage.
I denounced to my friend that 1995 Morrissey was creepy, but god bless this guy's good nature in wanting to see the better side of people, told me that this guy was just merely drunk. I finally moved over when this guy started to back into me like i wasn't even there, and thanked god when he left.
