  • I've just arrived from the show and it was amazing, well, actually it was more than that, much more than that, as soon as i figure out a good adjetive to descrive it I'll use it. The set-list was pretty much the same Morrissey has been playing lately, which means it was a great list! He was in a good mood, despite the fact that the sound on stage was not as good as it should had been (he apologized several times because of this, he even said sorry if he was sounding like a frog and said he felt he was just barking, fortunately this was not true, the sound outside the stage was ok!). The crowd used every little space between songs to sing his name, he really seemed pleased and surprised with this, then he talk about bush (in a negative way of course) wich made the crowd scream ''hijo de puta'' (the spanish for ''motherfucker'') in his honor. Morrissey is awesome, I have no doubts about that, specially after what I saw tonight. Goobye.

my worst Morrissey experience so far... but DONT blame him, blame the bloody awful organizer who made the band AND Morrissey sound "like a frog" (in his own words).
highlight of the night: seeing Julia again.. she is such a nice person.

I have no words to explain my last night experience. Incredible!!!

  • Hi everyone,

I didn´t enjoyed last night show.
Sound was terrible, Morrissey continuosly apologized to the point, I guess, to feel embarrassed. In moments he lost patience and didn´t finish few songs.
The band sounded like if they just bought their equipment in a pawn shop.
Also stage lighting was really dull.
None of this is to blame them, actually I don´t care much about blaming when everything is said and done, but perhaps, if there is a next time with Moz here, the promoter will show more respect and appreciation for such artists.

One more thing, and this one touches me personally.
My relationship with Smiths/ Morrissey music not only comes from enjoying nice tunes but also from a communion of ideas. I consider myself a fan not because I may know the entire set of lyrics but because I share some thoughts in common.
My wife and I are among those who think that being kind to others is the cool thing to do.
Last night, we felt a bit out of place and couldn´t recognize that communion we have at home with the music since we didn´t expect we had to endure being there. Some of the audience was relentlessly pushing others with the vain & silly desire of getting a couple of feet closer to the stage, no matter if people ahead was being crushed or worse. We saw people falling to the floor and only luck saved them from being seriously hurt. I don´t see the point, the necessity or even the "coolness" in doing that.

But you know, it´s just me with my little honest opinion.

  • The first time I saw a Morrissey show. In the first song I break in tears. I couldn´t believe that Morrissey was in the stage, just 5, 6 mts far away from the crowd.
The sound was a little bad, but not too much. The people was very very energic...and sir Moz thanked that.

Bigmouth Strikes Again! What a great moment!!!
Morrissey asked about Julia again. Julia...where are you? Julia...I´m not singing. Who is singing?

How soon is now? sounds ok...but with less energy than The Smiths.

In Let Me Kiss You he said something like "I´m thinking about a horrible idea: Let me kiss you"

In Such a little thing...change the line: ...simple for "complicated things of life".

The end was great. I was in tears again because of the emotion.

I love you MOZ. A great night, a great show. I will remember this for the rest of my life.

    Alejandro

Ps: the setlist provided by Charles Byron is ok! I think it´s in the correct order.

  • Morrissey´s show was great but a bit short for me. It lasted one hour and fifteen minutes. The show started with First of the gang to die. The audience was really excited. Morrisey was dressed in a priest suit. Sometimes the sound wasn´t good enough and becouse of this Morrisey apoligised. The greatest moment of the night took place when he started to perform Bigmouth strikes again. Morrisey said he had only one question and this was, 'who voted Bush?' and the he started to play The wolrd is full of crashing bores. He finished the show with There is a light that never goes out and he left teliing us 'God bless you!.' Thank you Morrisey for having come back to Argentina.
    Set list in order:
First of the gang to die
    How soon is now?
    November spawned a mosnter
    I like you
    Bigmouth strikes again
Such a little thing makes such a big difference
    Subway train/Everyday is like Sunday
    Let me kiss you
    Shoplifters of the world unite
    Irish blood, English heart
The world is full of crashing bores
How can anybody possibly know how I feel?
    Now my heart is full
    Rubber ring
The more you ignore me, the closer I get

  • It's true that Moz wasn't happy with the on-stage sound, but from the crowd "point of hearing" it was great.
Well, that was my first Morrissey show, I was really happy being there.
I took along a cd with a song I recorded with my band (www.estilozero.com.ar - a little updating would be good.... if you want to hear the song that was on the cd, drop me a line) and kept waving it up high until Moz saw me... I think he was singing "Shoplifters..." in that moment. He starts moving his hand as if he was saying "toss it over here". I called (shouted to) the security guy in front of me to give him the cd to hand it over to Moz but he wouldn't listen... I started to get nervous and then I just threw it away in direction of the stage... I was in a really uncomfortable position, so it was obvious the cd wouldn't make it to the stage... and has expected... it fell just right before the stage.
Morrissey starts looking around to find it, but he couldn't... the looks at me and I point over where it fell... he goes to the border of the stage, crouches (I don't know if that's the correct conjugation of the verbe "to crouch" - I meant that he goes down to his knees) and starts looking down. He spoted the cd, and then I (as well as the people surrounding me) begin to shout at the security guy, who now seems "under pressure" because everyone is shouting at him...
Moz wants the cd, so we told the guy to turn around and he sees Morrissey pointing down... the security guy goes down, gets the cd, and finally gives it to Moz!
Morrissey looks at the cd, then looks at me, makes a thank you gesture and then leaves it on Dean-o's drum platform.
I was the happiest person in the whole place in that moment!!
Well, that was my (and the people who "supported" the idea of the cd getting to his hands) personal Morrissey moment, and I will never forget it.

First of the gang to die fue el comienzo. Excelente.

Otro clásico: Everyday is like sunday (con intro de Subway Train).

Tocó temas viejos como November spawned a monster, Such a little thing makes such a big difference y el clásico The more you ignore me the closer I get. Antes de arrancar con The world is full of crashing bores dijo algo así como "Cuando nos podremos librar de Bush?". Mas temas de los Smiths: Shoplifters of the world unite, Rubber ring (algo jazzera) y There is a light that never goes out como cierre. Mejor imposible.

No podía creerlo.

Van a terminar mal.

El show tuvo picos emocionantes, reviviendo clasicos de The Smiths y clasicos actuales, como First Of The Gang To Die & The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores...
