  • I will be arriving in eugene around noon,
to wait for the man in person. it seems like it would be fairly easy to meet up with Mozzer,
as there are only 2 entrances to the mcdonald.
Any fellow fanatics who might like to go for a pint @ the high st. Mcmenamins brewpub before the
show? good beer, good atmosphere, and the company
would be apprecciated. just look for the fella
in the hot august heat in rockabilly wear...
my name is george, by the way... see you in 2 weeks!

  • I'm wondering if someone can give me an idea on Morrissey's Eugene (and surrounding areas) fan-base. I live in Eureka and I'm driving to Eugene; I'll leave at dawn and should arrive sometime around 2. Do you think the line will be massive by then? I have to be pressed against the barrier... I have to.

There's a fairly decent fan base here in Eugene, but I have a hard time imagining people lining up at the crack of dawn (Stuff like that only happens with wretched Deadhead/Dave Matthews bands.) On top of that, the McDonald Theatre is smack in the middle of downtown, and I'm not sure how the businesses right next door would take to waves of Moz fans loitering around all day (We do like to call our police around here, sadly.)

My guess is that you should be fine if you show up an hour or two before the doors open. The McDonald is pretty open and easy to wander around inside of, so finding a decent spot to watch from should be no problem.

If you want to try to meet him, then mid-afternoon would be my guess. It's your call (I'm not a big I've-got-to-meet-the-musician/writer/artist person myself, but you probably weren't interested...)

Of course, this is all my opinion and could be wrong.

  • I went to the Phoenix show. Now, I'll be driving from San Francisco, with my girlfriend, to Eugene. Where will people meet up for brews before the show? I've only been to OR once. I received a speeding ticket (115mph) for my effort. Perhaps, I'll get another!

  • I'm going to be standing (or sitting) in line from around 2 in the afternoon, until doors open. If anyone is game to try to see Morrissey as he walks in (and out) from the soundcheck, feel free to conspire with me. I'll be the guy reading a book, or magazine.
